This is all well and good but the real problem is not the border but the interior. If you really want to stop illegal immigration then strictly enforce the laws against employment, housing and social services for illegals. With no reasons to stay we would not have to guard the border.

You have to have all 3: Border, interior, and workplace.

Bush and the GOP congress pushed most of the additional interior enforcement off on local law enforcement. The number of border patrol agents double while Bush was prez, but they didn't hire hardly any new ICE agents.

And since the meltdown, no one has been hired. In fact, border patrol was given an exemption from the sequester, otherwise they would have had to lay off.

The interior governors should call up the National Guard, too. On radio this AM, there was something about a law passed a few years ago that allows states and localities to enforce immigration law.

I'd love to see a real crisis over this. It'll be immensely popular to keep these Spanish-speaking low education Central Americans out of public schools. Real guts would be taking the federal taxes on state worker incomes and keeping them to pay for immigration enforcement.

There has to be forceful action. Rick Perry took what's a first step in that direction.

2. public housing
3. aid to dependent children
4. etc etc

Immigration is good. The freer the better.

However, you cannot have it with the WELFARE STATE!!
