Graham joins Cruz in blaming Obama for immigration woes, but calls on GOP House ‘to lead’

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on Sunday blamed the border crisis on President Obama, but also argued his Republican Party is doomed in the 2016 presidential race unless the GOP House next year helps fix the country’s broken immigration policies.

“I blame Obama for this moment,” Graham told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” If Congress doesn’t pass immigration-reform legislation in 2015 “our chances in 2016 are very low. The House should lead.”

Graham also said that 2008 immigration laws must be changed before he supports Obama’s recent request to Congress for an additional $3.7 billion to help with the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, where tens of thousands of Central American children and others have crossed into the United States in recent months with hopes of fleeing widespread poverty and violence.

The law, intended to curb human trafficking, prevents children illegally entering the United States from non-bordering countries from being immediately sent home.

The Republican-controlled House has already indicated its unwillingness to agree to the additional spending.

As usual, Graham likes it both ways and wants to mislead to get reelected in the process.

Now that the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights are nothing more than historical relics, the Republicans need to get themselves a phone and a pen. That’s how we roll in America these days.

Tell me how the government intends to stop human trafficking by prohibiting those trafficked in from being deported?

Or was the name of the bill a total lie intended to get a unpopular bill passed, like most of congress' legislation these days?

What's broken is that existing laws are ignored or applied haphazardly.

People in SC must be among the lowest five states in voter intelligence, but with so much competition maybe not. It’s a shame though that SC Democrats have such a say in picking the Republican nominee for President.

Also broken are the “open primary” election laws.

Low for... what? The White House??? LMAO!!! Chasing a pipe dream is not an adequate reason to further screw the country with a sweeping amnesty.

Linda believes the political dynamic among Hispanics vis-a-vis the Republicans will change for the better once amnesty is passed.

Re: “Also broken are the “open primary” election laws.”

Exactly.

I have yet to see any analysis of the voting in Graham’s primary.

Did he win the same way Thad Cochran won in Mississippi?

As to “Open Primaries:”

The fault is entirely on Conservatives.

If we want state taxpayers to pay for our primaries, then we have to obey state and federal laws.

If we pay for our own primaries, we can have any kind of election we please.

"Immigration Reform" has become a sloganized cliche, which means different things, to different people.

What Graham has meant by the term in the past, is not anything acceptable to any thinking American who wants to preserve our heritage.

Graham has accused those of us who want to preserve social cohesion & continuity of "bigotry," a calculated insult, intended to intimidate Conservatives, and avoid actual debate of the issues. (See Letter to Lindsey Graham.) The man is at best confused; at worst, a saboteur to the American future.

The issue has never been whether one likes or dislikes the people of any other nation. People are simply not interchangeable; every people is unique, as is every individual. Simple respect for the realities of life; simple understanding that space & resources are limited; simple acceptance of the fact that the first duty of any Government is to its own people; all dictate that any American Immigration policy, look first at the multi-generational interests of our own people. (See An American Immigration Policy.)

That is not what Graham has been promoting. Nor is it reflected in the projects of special interests, seeking immediate--short-term, business grains, that may boost Corporate profits, in the near term, at the expense of the future.
