RIP. But you will live forever on screens everywhere.
Have had “36 Hours” on DVR for a long while but haven’t watched it yet. It’s one of those movies I’ve seen parts of over the years but never all at once. I guess this would be a good time now.
I always thought it was sad when they brought Garner in to help keep “8 Simple Rules...” alive after John Ritter’s death. The heart was gone from the show and nothing could save it.
I was out of the country and missed all of the 90s Rockford Files TV movies. Were they any good compared to the series?
“I’m just passing through on my way to Australia.”
ONe of the all time greats! RIP Jim.
Just on a goof, we were watching some old “Stingray” episodes last night. I read somewhere that the Troy Tempest marionette was designed to look like James Garner. You be the judge...

I knew him as the guy in the Poloroid commercials with Mariette Hartley, and of course, the Rockford files.
I also liked him in a old movie he did with Harry Morgan.
RIP
James Garner was a great actor. I loved the Rockford files when I was a kid and watch episode on netflix from time to time.
Sad to hear. I’ll miss ya Jim.
One of the best. Loved him for years. He was so good in Rockford Files. He will be missed.
One of my all time favorites. “The Rockford Files” is fun to watch on Netflix.
Very sad news. A mans man, as beloved for his real-life personality as his memorable on-screen characters. For one stretch of time it seemed he was the Indy 500 pace car driver every year,
Commenting on all the James Garner threads. RIP Jim, you are already missed.
My friend’s dad said about James Garner “every home should have one”.
How true is that?
Rockford Files had the greatest theme song EVER......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d41cAOmcuxk
Enjoyed his work. RIP.
RIP Rockfish.
“Rockford!”
One of the most entertaining actors ever, IMHO.
For my money, Rockford Files is the best non Star Trek show ever made.
Godspeed Mr Garner.
Ditched the cable a few years back — found one of those old fogey stations that runs classic shows.
“Rockford Files” was appointment viewing weekdays at 10PM.
Loved the show as a kid, and loved being able to watch it again.
Thanks for the memories, Jimmy
Awe this makes me sad. Loved him.
IIRC, he was also in “The Ultimate Gift”, “The Great Escape” and “Maverick”
Liked him. Another time in America he was a star. Today.........forget it. Rest James.
