Early Seventies, Milwaukee. Several “gay” Marquette students rented the house next store. We all got along. They had no aggressive agenda then. But so many of them had “daddy” issues! They wanted to shock and embarrass their fathers! I found that to be quite prevalent, and very sad.

My brother, who is gay, always tried to walk the line between telling people “I was born this way” and telling my mother “You made me this way”.
