Not a big deal for me as I have been fingerprinted multiple times by the government. Between clearances and federal employment and working for banks and military training I’ve been finger printed so often that I’m sure they can estimate my age, weight and occupation by my finger prints.
Gov. Perry approve of this?
They’ve been taking the thumbs from each hand for nearly 2 decades now.
Said it was biometrics.
Never have let me pick of a replacement license just by scanning my fingers. Never have scanned my fingers as a matter of procedure to confirm ID.
They always require me to provide 2 forms of ID (a social security card and either birth certificate or a passport).
Obama never had to do this to become president.
The 300,000 illegal aliens don’t have to do this.
Doesn’t pay to be a citizen anymore.
They are building a “suspects” list for persons who’ve never been charged with a crime to accuse random strangers in “cold cases”. Whatever it takes to clear the books even if there is no evidence to place a person at the scene or a crime than a cigarette butt or some other thing that could be planted by a criminal.
Pigs grown wings yet?
The DHS has been “assisting” the states Department of Motor Vehicles by giving them equipment to build bio metric databases for the Feds.
We’ve had quite the dust up over it in Missouri the last couple of years. Not sure if we beat back the invaders or they are flying under the radar.
This is a damned if you do or don’t. It might help catch some crooks or illegals.
Banks have been doing thumb prints for years if you were not a customer of theirs when you cash a check.
CCW people, and those who need gov’t clearance for work are required to do it. All Military have a set of fingerprints on file, just another form of ID.
I don’t see it as a big deal, no more than like a Photo ID to vote. Maybe it’s time to do a thumb print for that too. That way we know the dead won’t be voting. Or voting multiple times. Easier to catch the perp doing it.
I had to give my fingerprints in order to work as a substitute teacher. How can the demand fingerprints of everyone for a driver’s license? Did the Texas Legislature approve this? Isn’t this against the 4th Amendment?
