A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an aviation industry source as saying on Thursday.

Incident....
On same day of month July 17th, 1996 TWA 800 was shot down over New York.
Question, what was the altitude and speed compared to Flight 93 in PA? Debris was scattered 8 miles away, so why is this jets debris field so localized?
CNN guy is wrong...airliner was at 33,000 feet, well within the capabilities of an SA-11, which is operated by pro-Moscow rebels; the Russian military and Ukrainian armed forces. Interestingly, TASS is claiming the crash site is 35 miles from Russia’s border with Ukraine, but a Reuters reporter who made it to the scene says the plane went down only 25 miles from the border—easily within the range of an SA-11.
Who in Ukraine said this? The Government? Do you have a name? The Ukrainian government gave flight clearance to MH 17 to enter its airspace. Why would they do that if they did not want people to “fly in their sky?”

I would say that for this crash, the aircraft broke up a bit on the way down. Debris was drifting down as the aircraft continued down...
Flight 93, on 9-11, went directly into the ground intact.

The U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine has released this statement:
Ukrainian authorities report that bodies and debris are spread across a 10 mile distance and that all 295 passengers and crew are believed dead. Ukrainian military analysts believe a Russian-made SA-17 Grizzly surface-to-air missile system destroyed the plane.
“If true, this represents a significant escalation, as the SA-17 is a sophisticated system requiring a whole suite of radar and command vehicles.”
Militants from the Donetsk People’s Republic have secured the site and are refusing access to outsiders.
