This is what happens when Russian rebels have access to sophisticated arms under no higher government control and are let loose with hair triggers in a civil war already eager to kill their neighbors who once were their brothers.
Yeah now I remember. I have always thought that Putin was embarrassed by the fall of Communism in '89, and is trying to reinstall national pride by forcing an imperial agenda one tiny piece at a time.

this is just an unfortunate coincidence for them, but a lot of their routes do fly over truly s***** parts of the world.
CNN reported that the Pentagon had concluded from satellite data that the Ukrainian cargo plane shot down on Monday was the result of a missile from inside Russia. Similar data is now being analyzed for this one. Quite conceivable that a missile from the Russian side could have taken down the airliner.
