Folks, I understand that this is from 2012, but in light of current events, I thought it provided good background.
(BTW, as a practicing Catholic, I am utterly outraged by this kind of thing).

Just like Mike Huckabee...its easy to be “Christian” with other people’s money.

and the Baptists were outraged by the 50 million dollar Baptist resort for illegals too.
I assume this is all sour fruit of Bush’s “faith based initiative” boondoggle.

$72.1 million was stolen from people’s wages
under $25,000 was voluntarily given

Paul’s admonition against being unequally yolked comes to mind.

Sounds like some of our churches are finding it very lucrative to cozy up to the Federal government.

As we saw with the secularation of most of our older Catholic colleges, when you take from the government you become less and less Catholic.

No wonder American bishops are such supporters of more and bigger government.
To: markomalley
Same here, cradle-Catholic. I am very upset that the US Bishops are bought-out by the US Government. And since the US church provides significant (most?) funds for the Vatican, the Pope and his advisors have also been sold out to the highest bidder.
Makes one consider becoming an anchorite in the desert to separate one's soul from the rot.

Notice the libs don’t seem to have an itch about “separation of church and state” so long as the cause suits their desires.

“$72.1 million budget came from federal grants and contracts”
Well I guess sense the Catholic Church is in bed with the
liberal/fascist and the homos, we can expect to see a
new state religion emerge from it’s ashes. They have chosen
the side they want to be on, fascism.
