Bakke was a turning point in whether I was going to keep pushing hard to attend med school. After weighing the options, I decided against it. The CS and EE world is a better meritocracy. It also dodges the cost of malpractice insurance, socialized medicine and exorbitant student loans. No regrets.

Tell it to the inhabitants of the African dorm, the Hispanic dorm, the Feminist dorm; those who self segregate, both in living quarters, eateries, and in majors (how many of these groups will you find in the hard sciences vs those in the "Studies" departments) once they are admitted? Very few, if any. So this "richness" is a complete crock.
