A prominent law professor and avowed supporter of the Obama White House will tell the House on Wednesday that the president has created one of the biggest constitutional crises in the countrys history and will endorse House Republicans effort to sue to rein him in.
Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University, will say President Obama is trampling the founders vision for the country in his push to circumvent Congress, and he will demand Republicans and Democrats alike forget their party labels to unify against this White Houses power grab.
What we are witnessing today is one of the greatest challenges to our constitutional system in the history of this country, Mr. Turley said in a prepared testimony, saying it began with previous presidents but under Mr. Obama has reached a constitutional tipping point that threatens a fundamental change in how our country is governed.
The scorching testimony to the House Committee on Rules kicks off whats expected to be a several-week push by Republicans that will end in the House approving a lawsuit against Mr. Obama, challenging his unilateral decision to ignore or waive parts of his own signature health care law.
Already, the GOP effort is ensnared in politics.
House Republicans have resorted to their most wild and desperate stunt yet, said Rep. Louise McIntosh Slaughter of New York, the ranking Democrat on the Rules Committee, who will help lead opposition to the GOPs lawsuit push....

That’s the point, isn’t it?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Impeach, impeach, impeach.
That lawsuit is an excellent move!
The problem with that is even if all the GOP Senators vote in the Senate for conviction, I don’t see a single one of the needed 22 Democrats Senators’ votes ever happening.
I’m actually being optimistic to even think that all the GOP Senators would vote for conviction ... :-) ...
Our New National Anthem:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall;
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings horses
And all the kings men
Couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Exactly what Obama has wanted to happen all along.
The constitution calls for impeachment for HCAM.
Everyone accepts that multiple instances have been Committed.
The Constitution does not take party/politics/election prospects into consideration. If HCAM have occurred, impeachment is the remedy. Not letting HCAM slide. Every person in congress swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. Ergo, they are oathbound to impeach.
Since the above is true, people wanting to skip impeachment for any reason are guilty of the exact same thing Obama is. Twisting/ignoring the laws/Constitution based on situational ethics. And that isnt conservative.
Nowhere in the constitution does it say “The president shall be impeached IF they think they have enough votes in the senate to remove him.”
Make no mistake.. Nothing Boehner does has conservative values or their moral compass at heart.
This is a joke. It will take the rest of zero’s term to wend it’s way through the courts. In the mean time millions of illegals flood over the border to be put on welfare and to vote, our first and fourth amendment rights will be continue to be abridged, our enemies will continued to be armed, aided and abetted, no one will be held accountable for F&F, Benghazi, IRS, Extortion 17, the Bergdahl treason...
Actually Obama has been slapped down ALREADY by the US Supreme Court, at least 12 or more times (twelve court cases) ... which is unprecedented for a President.
SO ... it’s already being done and Obama is getting hammered ... plus the fact that it’s setting some real good precedent for any future Presidents so they don’t get the same wild ideas as Obama!
Boehner’s politics aren’t part of this. This isn’t a person-to-person lawsuit. This is the Congress suing the Executive office for exceeding its authority.
Fat lot of good that'd do.
Seriously, what happened from Fast & Furious?
What happened from the NSA's domestic espionage?
The dozen other things that huge portions of government agencies could have been taken down over?
If they cannot be trusted to do right over these littler
things, why should they be trusted on the big things?
Face it, the Republican party is very much for statism, corruption, and tyranny.
It is time, for the Republic, for the Constitution.
Several weeks? That’s just too long to wait.
Exactly.
For some bizzarre reason, some claiming to be on the right think repeating Obama’s ignoring of the Constitution is OK when ‘we’ do it. For some reason some claiming to be on the right think they know more/better/are wiser than the people that actually wrote it.
I guess the authority granted to them by the almighty Internet makes them better judges of how to interpret the plainly written words of the document and makes situational ethics OK.
People make all sorts of excuses. In the last week we all have seen plenty. But the bottom line is just what you said. So these people can either follow the Constitution or join openly with the GOP in opposing it.
