If they accept the Egyptian proposal, they will be perceived as having been heavily defeated in the latest round of conflict with Israel; a defeat that is close to a humiliation.
That’s because the conditions in the Egyptian proposal do not include any of the demands that Hamas has been repeating day and night in the last few days. As reported in the Egyptian media, there is no mention in the proposal of Hamas’s oft-repeated demand for the release of the dozens of its operatives, freed in the 2011 Shalit deal, who were rearrested in recent weeks by Israeli forces in the West Bank in the wake of the murders of the three Israeli teenagers. There is also no concrete commitment regarding the opening of the Rafah border crossing or the payments of the salaries of Hamas’s 40,000 clerks in Gaza. And there is no mention whatsoever of the situation in the West Bank. All these demands were raised by the Hamas military wing two days after Israel began Operation Protective Edge, and repeated interminably ever since.
Yes, there is some language providing for the opening of the border crossings, and an easing of movement of people and goods via those crossings as permitted by the security situation. But that language is almost a direct repetition of the November 2012 ceasefire terms that brought Operation Pillar of Defense to a close. Time and again, Hamas’s leaders have been stressing in recent days that “there will be no return to the 2012 ceasefire terms.”

I think you are right. Hamas is the military wing of the Moslem Brotherhood. President Sisi has to be eating popcorn post Ramadan fast. He has defeated both Obama and the Moslem Brotherhood again.

Indeed, neither want to administer an overcrowded, impoverished strip of land jammed with 1.6 million people. It's one reason why Israel doesn't want to invade, and another as to why Israel doesn't want to completely topple Hamas since it is, for now, still responsible for services, etc.
In this fight Israel and Egypt were basically on the same side. It's perhaps one reason why Israel will so readily agree to the Egyptian cease fire offer - it gives legitimacy to al-Sisi whom Israel probably seeks to bolster.

I would not be a bit surprised if Israel and Egypt have been coordinating this from the beginning. Once Israel had degraded Hamas sufficiently for their purposes, they give the nod to Al-Sisi to make the cease fire offer with terms that humiliate Hamas further and boost Al-Sisi (whom Israel wants to see become a bigger player in the region anyway). It also is a slap in the face to Obama who kept supporting the Muslim Brotherhood with one argument for doing so being they were close with Hamas and could help contain them.

As I noted earlier today, the Pali’s attacks on Israel seem to always coincide with when they run out of money, and usually the useful idiots in the west send them billions for it.
This time it is very different....
Too many other things going on in the world right now, that are keeping the usual clients busy elsewhere.
Syria and Iraq are too preoccupied with its their own civil wars to care, the Jordanians have their own problems, and the Saudi’s are more concerned about ISIS at their border. Europe too worried about Ukriane to pay attention.
Egypt has beaten down the Muzzie Bro’hood, and they ARE Hamas. They want nothing to do with this.
The only active clients for the Pali’s right now are the Iranian’s, who aren’t in much of a position to help them, and the Obama Administration.
Even Official Russia has been fairly quiet this time, with relations between Putin and Bibi going well, issuing a few lower profile condemnations, and nothing else.

True, quite true. So far, Hamasimians fired a rocket which took down a high tension power line - - - and 73,000 Palisimians were without electricity. And, the Palisimians owe Israel 512 megabucks in unpaid power bills.
Repairs were not made today. Tomorrow does not look good, either.
