I went through many expat blogs, the one warning about Honduras crime had a link but it was in Spanish...I did get some links to those talking about life in their Central American County with articles over the past year. Nothing about the children, gangs, or increased heavy crime...mostly pick pockets, opportunist thefts, and some break ins.

I can’t find a real blog article in past year complaining heavily about anything, but I know Panama has had some gang and petty crime increases in past years. Only one woman was ready to leave Honduras...??? Expats seem satisfied living there, but maybe those who aren’t have left.

Expats live in a bubble of wealth. In my parents country I have 2 maids, a driver, and security. That is something anyone can get used to. God was extra good to non Indian South Americans, but they lost their way and God’s protection.

People with money live like Kings in “emerging economies”, and expats have nothing to compare their current situation to.

Expats are not a valid source to measure a decline in a society.

That was a great idea. I just figured if things were that bad in any of those countries, we’d have heard about it before the invasion -not after.
