Friday on "Democracy Now," Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) attacked his "shameful" Republican colleagues for wanting to change the 2008 child trafficking law so that the children from from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador current streaming across the border in hopes of evading deportation will be treated the same as those from Mexico before approving the $3.7 billion in emergency funding the president has requested.
The Illinois Democrat said, "I think it is shameful that in the Congress of the U.S. we see members of Congress engendering and creating fear of children. We should be protecting children, not creating fear of them."

On Sean Hannity’s radio show today, there was a caller who said his son was a Border Patrol agent. The caller said his son told him over the phone, “Dad, they’re not all children.”
The caller mentioned that his son said there are men coming across the border in their twenties who are pretending to be teenagers.
Precisely. Those poor parents must be distraught! Luis suggests that we keep those children here, far from their loved ones. *ahem*
