President Obama on Wednesday forcefully defended his decision not to visit the Texas border with Mexico to view a burgeoning humanitarian crisis, saying he’s “not interested in photo ops” and challenging Congress to give him new authority to respond to the situation.
“Nothing has taken place down there that I’m not intimately aware of,” Obama said during a hastily arranged news conference here, where he began a two-day visit to the state for Democratic fundraising and an economic event. “This is not theater.”
His remarks came after a meeting with Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) and local leaders to discuss his administration’s response to an influx of tens of thousands of foreign children, mostly from Central America, who have entered the state illegally.

Obama created this situation to extort and amnesty plan from the congress. If they don't give him what he wants he is knowingly going to let the border crisis keep getting worse without lifting a finger. He knows that the media will take pictures of children dying in the street, diseases running rampant through the community, and it will all be blamed on the republicans.
This is extortion on a national level.

Obama has ALWAYS been about the photo-op, but his major FAILURE here by running from the border, is gutlessly ducking the responsibility ... again.
The reaction to this “no photo op” crap was devastating on Fox today - Cavuto did a montage of past non-photo-ops with Obama including my favorite, the one with all the stooges in white coats when he was trying to sell Obamacare, and just a few minutes later Gutfeld read an original poem savaging the statement on “The Five”.....
There are posts on this forum right now warning of infectious diseases (TB and many others) the illegal immigrants are carrying. The lack of adequate screening of immigrants and lack of protection for Border enforcement personnel hasten the spread of contagion.
