So says Politico’s Jennifer Haberkorn, but color me skeptical. Not of Haberkorn’s reporting on the subject, which accurately takes the temperature of the rhetoric from the Left, but of the bravado coming from Capitol Hill Democrats in the dog days of July. Democrats claim they want to make a midterm fight over a relatively narrow Supreme Court decision that doesn’t restrict access to contraception in any way as a means to fire up their “war on women” rhetoric and turn out their base in what looks like a dismal election cycle:
With an eye on the November elections, congressional Democrats on Wednesday introduced a bill that would overturn the Supreme Courts Hobby Lobby contraception decision.
Democrats and womens health groups believe they have a powerful campaign weapon in pushing back on the Supreme Courts 5-4 ruling that Hobby Lobby and other closely held for-profit companies dont have to comply with the health laws contraceptive coverage requirement if it violates the owners religious beliefs.
The bill was drafted by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), a longtime womens health advocate, and Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.), who is up for reelection this year. Sen. Mark Begich, a Democrat up for reelection in Alaska, joined them at the press conference to release the bill. …
Theyre framing it as the court allowing gender discrimination and putting bosses in charge of personal health decisions to use contraception, even when medicine is prescribed for nonreproductive reasons, such as to treat endometriosis. And they want to make sure Republicans have to answer whether they support it.

Yeah sure, this will win Dems brownie points.
They will have to lie to do it which is the norm anyways for the dimoKKKRATS.
I predict that over 90% of the Republican candidates will do a poor job of handling this issue. Republicans have a poor record of being able to counter idiocy from the Dems.

Please Democrats/Progressives do. Make sure everyone knows you are against religious freedom in America.
While your at it, make sure America knows you favor Illegal immigrant children over Americas.
And make sure they know you gave Iraq to ISIL and that they said are coming to New York next.
Because 90% of RepublicansE have no core values except those that Goldman Sachs tells them to have.
If the press had one iota of integrity, they would challenge the Dems to bring out some ACTUAL HOBBY LOBBY EMPLOYEES who will be “hurt” by the SC ruling.
It CAN"T work - can it? Surreal.
A lot of that is due to media bias. But I do agree, the Republicans could learn a lot from Dems about coordinating their messaging and talking points.
If this is all they have and it actually works, we are in fact seeing the end times for the United States. Any voting public stupid enough to fall for this is too stupid to long last..
The stupid thing - well, one of the stupid things - is that this had absolutely nothing to do with Republicans. It had everything to do with the Constitution... and I don’t care what bill they craft: the Constitution trumps it.
RE: Free contraception. With everything going on today this is the big issue for the democrats.
For those who don’t remember, Sandra Fluke was given a PRIME TIME speech at the DNC in 2012, just before Joe Biden.
The decision doesn't “prevent women from obtaining birth control.” They can still buy it and heck if they are poor it is free through various organizations.
We are not guaranteed happiness. Only the pursuit of happiness.
BTTT!

Why else, in 2012, would the RNC allow Romneycare Romney to run against Obamacare Obama?
And why else doesn’t Speaker Boehner Impeach the most Impeachable Chief Exec. EVER?
I’m beginning to think we have nothing but old chicken shite lazy dumbasses
that only want to play and keep the high life going. Nothing more.
We have no representation.
You think campaigning for consequence-free sex won’t work?
What amazes me is their lack of outrage last year or five years ago when millions of women probably didn’t have any type of contraceptive coverage.
It’s the religious thing that is sticking in their craw.
Don’t miss the real point.
This is not about the women getting contraception,
it’s about FORCING those opposed to contraception to pay for it.
But I'm probably wrong.
