RUSH: This is Ann and Ed in Southern California. Welcome. It's great to have you on the phone. Hello.
ANN: Hello.
RUSH: Hi.
ANN: Hi, Rush. How are you?
RUSH: Just fine. Thank you very much.
ANN: Great. Well, we have some interesting news. My husband Eddie is on the phone with us. We live in Southern California, and we're Catholic, active Catholics in our community, and there was a town hall meeting last evening, emergency meeting called by our local parish priest, ordered by our bishop (unintelligible) and the Archdiocese of San Bernardino. They have made the decision that they're going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop's office on Monday and they're gonna be busing these immigrants to our communities and asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month. The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media. I'm not especially happy about it. My husband is a retired doctor, and he will share his concerns with you regarding this matter. Eddie, do you want to go ahead and talk about your thoughts?

There is no need to reply multiple times to the same with different comments, put them all in one post so I can ignore of them at once.
You sure ain't doin' a very good job of IGNORIN'...
Shocking they knew about Cloward-Piven, yet felt resigned to be tools of the left.
“. I guess that state just beats the common sense and testosterone out of you .”
I’ve seen it firsthand. Supposed conservatives here were all talked into a Big Government loan for a water project run by a bunch of liberals. A bunch of us real conservatives came up with a cheaper plan pay-as-you-go. The community backed the liberals, who ended up onlybdoing half the project for all the money.
Conservatism gets watered down here.
We’re moving. I’m disgusted with idiots.
I love 1984. It is here.
“Do you have definitive proof that the churches are being reimbursed by the government, or just hearsay?”
This is bigger than ‘the children.’. As soon as this wave is accepted, then it will be pointed out how sad that their families are not with them. Then there will be millions more here. This is only the first step.
Here ya go:
“Catholic Charities of TN, has said they plan to expand the federal refugee resettlement program in Tennessee. Since taking over the program they have increased the number of people being brought to Tennessee by 66%. They are paid for each person they bring to Tennessee.
Then they enroll their clients into TennCare which the citizens of Tennessee subsidize.
The state of Tennessee has absolutely no say about whether or how many people the federal refugee contractors bring. If Catholic Charities decides to say YES and open emergency shelters in Tennessee, it will be one more example of the federal government trying to force the State to fix a problem created by federal policies.”
So do you have definitive proof that the catholic church pays for everything -food, clothes, healthcare, education?
And for how long - until each one turns 18? and will you pay to train them to get a job? what about their families when they invade here as well?
This is costly, not just now but for decades to come.
yup!
I said nothing about housing them indefinitely, enrolling them in them in either state or federal programs.
We are Christians and as such we have a duty and a responsibility to give them 3 hots and a cot until they are returned to their families (or with their family, as the case may be) in their country of origin.
Yes, I did miss that, sorry.
But what you and I want will never happen. They’re not being returned, they’re not going anywhere.
IF they were, I’m sure the animosity on these threads would be less.
We see our country being destroyed.
“Then they enroll their clients into TennCare which the citizens of Tennessee subsidize.”
Don’t you love it when a charity takes all the credit but passes on the costs to people that got no vote?
It’s no different than the feds, welfare, and taxes!
Shouldn’t American money be going to our ailing vets before these prØps being floated across the Rio by the democRAT party? While our vets are barricaded and placed on supposed waiting lists and are dying on the soil they protected, illegals are pouring into our country raiding every cookie jar they can get their hands on.
I was listening to Glenn Beck after I had typed my initial comment yesterday, and was shocked to hear him say that his position along with Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert and mine were the same.
Sometimes Glenn can be a "little" off the wall.
Agreed 100% and Yorkiemom was nice enough to show me that it was not coming out of the churches pockets.
On the other hand Glenn Beck and many of his listeners are digging into their own pockets. This is what I support.
I'm just SURE you have verses to back up this assumption.
Maybe YOU do; but the people ALLOWING this invasion of our country want ME to 'support' it.
They were police officers?
“Sometimes Glenn can be a “little” off the wall.”
He can be, but that’s part of his charm.
I keep remembering and giving him credit for being the first to talk about progressives, Coward-Piven, and give the history of its stranglehold on us and Obama’s connections to it. The other talk show hosts now use it as if they discovered it. So I try to cut him some slack.
BUT this statement from him went too far: “...Beck also emphasized that the United States should be accessible to “all those fleeing poverty and violence.”
ALL those? How many countries don’t have violence and poverty? He’s suggesting we adopt and care for BILLIONS of people! At a time when we are $17.5T in debt, SS is broke, and our vets can’t get medical care. That’s nuts!
The statement was in a thread titled “Glenn Beck to Bring Soccer Balls, Hot Meals to Illegals: ‘We Must Open Our Hearts’. Sorry, I’m on a tablet and doing all the html formatting to give you a link takes more patience than I have. Somewhere in there, it also says catholic charities get 40% of their money from government grants. I admire anyone being charitable with their own money, but not when they are feining charity and forcing taxpayers to foot the bill.
“While our vets are barricaded and placed on supposed waiting lists and are dying on the soil they protected, illegals are pouring into our country raiding every cookie jar they can get their hands on.”
VERY well put!
