It is hard to believe a modern journalist could write such as story as this and not mention global warming/climate change as the culprit.
How on Earth can we have a “super” typhoon without the evil carbon dioxide molecules wreaking havoc on poor Mother Gaia?
That’s not what the union teachers taught in the Millennials’ and Gen Xers’ science class!

True. Global warming must now be mentioned in all science articles if it is expected to get attention, grants, etc.
Now, I've read article about studies that have concluded that cat-5 hurricanes were about twice as likely 1,100 years ago. So....
