Unaccompanied children are crossing at an alarming rate, and now many will be heading to Dallas.
"We cannot turn our back on these children that are already here," Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said.
Judge Jenkins announced that Dallas County would be the first county in the state to offer housing.
Terry Henderson is in charge of disaster relief for the Texas Baptist Men.
He's been waiting an announcement like this for more than a month.
"I kind of had a heads up no matter where it was going to happen in Texas that we were going to be involved because we have already been involved along the border."

Seriously?
It's time to stop giving a damn how we look. Republicans are so worried about seeming racist or insensitive; they're pathetic geldings because of their fears. Liberals know it and they hold it over their heads constantly.
We should never stop yelling our outrage over this invasion of our borders, nor should we stop demanding they be sent home. We're talking about the destruction of the country here. And you want to give up and welcome them in.
As for the "kids" being used by the forces of evil, I'd say their parents are pretty evil to abandon them just so they can get a foot in the door. The thing is, they know there are so many people who think the way you do, so they can get away with it.
The name is Terry Henderson, my mistake, but still anybody with the first name “Terry” brings suspect.
Shouldn’t they give them free drives across the border? They are abetting the invasion of aliens...and the international trafficking of children. They seem soft-headed to me.
My bad. I thought all Baptists are conservative..
Yeah, where’s Perry and Cruz?????
As a matter of fact where is the GOP??????(nevermind)
That's precisely what the liberals are counting on. They know conservatives are ultimately suckers.
ok...I will back off for now. sorry, I just am so mad about this.
I know these children have to be taken care of...I am so mad we are being put into this position and that the children were set up for God knows what.
Perry was actually before a House committee last week about the invasion, but Cruz has been silent.
And we could send me with a $1000 each child to the parents.
that would be WAY cheaper than what we are in for now.
Of course, if we don’t close the border, they will keep coming. I’m at my wit’s end. Its a lose, lose for us.
Nancy Pelosi is in your mind 24/7, like John Bohener's.
I don’t care how we LOOK, but I care very much how these people VOTE if they are allowed to stay. That is, of course, one of the reasons they’re being allowed in.
Some would just let them starve and use them for fertilizer.
My practical preference is to treat them with great kindness, warm them and fill them, and give them the thrill of their young lives with a plane ride home.
Then call Texas Baptist Men, and tell them your wish.
You will probably be hung upon.
There is Herod's(Obama's) gold to be had by Texas Baptist Men.
Jedidah, if you think anything would sway them from voting Democratic for the freebies...well, all I can say is, that's incredibly naive. It's why they're here in the first place.
"Some would just let them starve and use them for fertilizer."
I don't recall seeing any Freeper say that. Me, I don't want them dead. I want them gone. Every. Single. One.
"My practical preference is to treat them with great kindness, warm them and fill them, and give them the thrill of their young lives with a plane ride home."
*facepalm*
Cruz has not been silent. He’s been in South Texas to see the mess first-hand, and he’s spoken out:

As has Rick Perry, today:
But politicians speaking out isn’t going to clean up this mess or stop Obama; nor is pointing fingers and pitching fits on internet message boards.
You want them to WALK back home?? Air is faster.
Yes the Catholic Church has a strong stance on this. As I stated.
This is From the catechism:
2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.
Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.’
The Church, like our government, is full of humans Our constitution does not allow for all of this lawlessness, yet the people in it are acting as if the constitution doesn’t matter even as they’re sworn to adhere to it and protect it. That’s the problem
I have worked disaster relief. The “gold” whereof you speak doesn’t even cover expenses, much less labor.
It’s fine and good, and may even be fun, to sit at your computer and spout theory, but you simply do not know what you’re talking about. Very Michael Moorish.
And I’m betting you don’t get your smooth hands dirty helping any of the lowlife that surround you.
Where is Ted Cruz? I watch local Dallas media and Rick Perry went in front of a House committee while Ted Cruz has been silent.
I'm not pointing fingers, just pointing out facts, Ted Cruz.
This is precisely where illegal aliens should land: in places where faith and virtue are taught and practiced. They’ll make better citizens than the SEIU folks. Illegals should get their jobs, and Nancy Pelosi’s job, too.
Doesnt surprise me one bit that a Christian group would step in here, showing the face of Jesus to kids who are being used as pawns by evil forces.
while i agree with your desired results, show them the face of Jesus in their own damned country instead of destroying mine. PS not in a particularly good mood right now.
Michael Moorish?? Really?
Tell your boss Terry Henderson, he made a mistake getting in bed with Clay Jenkins and Obama.
