During the run up to the 2000 election, there was a GAME going on here on FR.
It usually started with somebody making an ugly remark about Bush; or some other stupid statement about how much better McCain would be as president - instead of Bush.
All it took was one post, and then the whole thread would explode. Then the original poster would go silent. I just kept watching it .. and soon discovered it was the same group of people. One of them would start the posts, and little by little others would join in and support the original poster. I began to write down the names on each post as the pattern continued to follow the same path.
At that point, I began sending “private” msgs to people who where supporting Bush on these threads - and I showed them who these people were and what the pattern of their GAME was doing to a thread.
The goal of course was to bombard the thread and then watch as the Bush supporters went ballistic. The fun was just to unload and then watch and laugh.
As soon as a lot of people got the msg about the GAME, we began to turn the tables on them. Eventually, because we were no longer responding to their ugly comments - they QUIT. Once they couldn’t get our goat, the GAME was over.
This is just a reminder - watch for this GAME - because I have seen it played recently. The point - REFUSE TO PLAY THEIR GAME by not responding to their post or commenting on it to anyone. They will always quit.

I read the whole stupid article and Obama is still a muzzie.
Not mopping floors he didn't.
I remember!
I don’t doubt for a moment that you are correct, in fact you simply confirmed what I’ve suspected.
The problem for a lot of us who read and post on an irregular basis is that the game isn’t easily recognized for what it is.
It would appear to be so.
They wouldn’t act like that if there wasn’t something to hide.
So this Leftwitch is upset that she and her socialist friends can no longer control the flow and nature of news. Obama is a socialist and, culturally. a muslim.
During that time, I began to something different. Instead of just posting my comments and going on to another thread, I began to read the entire thread. That’s how I caught it.
If you have a particular type of thread that you post on regularly, it might be a good time to start the practice of reading the whole thread before posting.
And .. write down the names of the posters. It’s not always negative; sometimes you can find quite a few people on a thread who really do think like you do .. and you can use that info to inform them, if you see the GAME happening.
I think You might be surprised at what you find.
Nice summary of what probably led up to this manufactured article.
I see she’s (likely) been rewarded with a new position at another college.
So who funds her position at the institute? Or is it her institute?
Bfl
I appreciate your good eye.
So, how does this explain humblegunner?
At the time , I thought that whoever was paying her while she was working on the Obama campaign should fire her. If it was on a taxpayer funded grant, it was likely a violation. She is still at Institute for Advanced Studies; I’m not sure what the connection to Princeton University is , or whether she’s on Princeton’s faculty.
If it's all 'pointless' why are they here? And why are they posting at the top of the thread?
These guys would make Tokyo Rose blush...
I have NO proof and don’t know if it’s true, but I heard Harry Reid is a pedophile.
According to David Axelrod, you can make an assertion without evidence. Either facts and circumstances support you, or you pay the social price of being ignored in the future.
It’s courteous to ping another freeper when you mention him.
He looks like one too.
Should I ping Danielle Allen; she apparently a lurker at least.
