I am nearing the end of watching season 5 of the wire.
I have watched and analyzed each episode at least twice. In my view The Wire is one of the best series ever to be on TV. It did not “air” because it was on HBO.
The series describes in great depth the various subcultures that make “the Black Community” and the various political and governmental institutions that exist with in the City of Baltimore. It deals evenhandedly with the good and bad that make a difference for the better or for the worst. Some even just ride the wave and do neither.
