Supporters of the police tactic stop, question and frisk are getting ready to say “I told you so,” now that new statistics show a spike in shooting incidents.
According to the NYPD, shootings jumped 11 percent compared to the same time last year and this past weekend, there were 21 shootings alone, causing some to second-guess Mayor de Blasio’s decision to drop the city’s appeal against amendments added to stop and frisk.
“No question about it, this was the biggest mistake the city has ever made,” Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) said.
Even Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said he would look into whether the Community Safety Act — legislation passed by the City Council which puts an inspector general in the department and allows civilians to file lawsuits against individual police if they feel they were stopped because of their race — could be tied to the spike.
Until now, Bratton was vehemently supportive of de Blasio’s stance on stop and frisk.
The NYPD would not say how it plans to investigate the issue.
Many of the shootings are happening in concentrated areas, specifically the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, Harlem and the North Bronx.

An out and out communist with great sympathy for the downtrodden criminals is elected mayor. He changes law enforcement to favor the violent and he gets more crime and violence. There must be a clue in there somewhere.

This was predictable. The new communist mayor sent the message that he really didn’t think that all those crimes were such a big deal.

Yes, there can not possibly be any shootings in NYC. Guns are not allowed, so I simply can not believe there are shootings in NYC.

Lenin, Marx and even Stalin viewed the “criminal class” as their shocktroops/cannon fodder foot soldiers. They felt that those with the least to lose would be willing to fight to get more.
The late (and later Communist Party member), W.E.B. DuBois wrote in “Liberator” magazine in the 1930’s, that the Communists were looking to use the black people as “cannon fodder” and told his people NOT TO JOIN the CPUSA.
This was later proven when the CPUSA took over the Scottboro Boys trial defense from a legitimate attorney Sam Leibowitz (see the new PROLOGUE issue of the National Archives for a good story on them).
The CPUSA used the trial as a fundraising issue for the Party, later abandoning the defendants when they no longer served the Party’s purpose.
DeBlasio is a communist. He knows how to play the game and is doing it, and many New Yorkers keep falling for it.

Well, 21 dead black people is a tiny price to pay if it just makes one liberal “feel better” about thugs not being stopped and frisked.

8 million people in that city and THIS is what gets elected Mayor? The choice between Rodney Danger, the Quinn person and DeBlasio is so pathetic. Why wouldn’t “good” people go into NYC politics?
