When talking with Bill O’Reilly, Charles Krauthammer was asked a very simple question Tuesday:

“How do you secure the border, Charles?”

He answered with an equally simple answer:

“You start with a fence. It’s very simple. …If fences don’t work, why is there one around the White House? If they don’t work, why is it that the Israeli fence, which separates Israel from the West Bank, has cut down terror attacks within Israel by 99%? Fences work.”

An interesting thought. Obviously, the border is longer than that of the White House; but the principle stays the same…

Advertise that any unaccompanied children will be adopted out to people in same sex marriages. How much do you want to bet that most parents would stop sending their children immediately?

Regarding the fence, a fence that will work to keep people out will also work equally well to keep people in. We do NOT want a fence.

Yes Visa overstayers are a problem. But a fence will only slow down the invasion. ENFORCE E-VERIFY WITH FINES HIGH ENOUGH TO HURT EMPLOYERS AND CUT OFF BENEFITS. Remember illegal immigration hurts the sending countries as much as it does us in the current era. Grow the pie for the whole world instead of dividingthe American pie for the unlawful entrants. The REPUBLICANS if they had the courage to do so, would simply pass a bill in the House that removes the fence surrounding the White House and relies on “high-tech” surveillance and the “honor system” to protect the President.

Of course it would NEVER become law, but that is the point.

Here is what needs to be done:

Support a pro-immigrant, low immigration policy that contains the following elements

 A merit based immigration system that brings in the skills and talents to keep us competitive in the global economy;

 Reduced immigration levels based on need and more closely approximating 300,000 legal immigrants a year;

 Elimination of extended chain migration, i.e., family reunification, limiting it to the nuclear family;

 Enforcement of existing immigration laws to reduce the current illegal alien population and limit future illegal immigration, i.e., attrition thru enforcement. Enforcement would include: (1) ending the job magnet; (2) increasing coordination at the federal level by eliminating barriers to information sharing among agencies; (3) leveraging state and local enforcement resources; (4) securing the border; (5) fully implementing the US-VISIT Program to track and deport visa overstays; and (6) make mandatory and improve such programs as E-Verify and 287 [g] authority to assist employers and law enforcement in identifying illegal aliens;

 Elimination of birthright citizenship and the diversity visa lottery program;

 Ensure that anyone who enters this nation illegally is not rewarded by being permitted to stay and work here; i.e., no amnesty;

 Streamline the processing and adjudication of immigration cases; and

 Promote pro-immigrant measures that help newcomers assimilate and embrace the values and principles of our Founders and the Constitution.

The Republican Congress needs to submit a 5 page bill to build a fence. Make Democrats and the president vote on it. Bills need to be focused not comprehensive.

Use illegals for labor, the ones who were convicted of violent crimes in the US. Let them sweat and regret in the desert until they’re eventually deported or buried.

What we need is to make the governments of each illegal alien pay the cost of their support. This means medical costs, school costs, welfare costs, law I forcemeat costs, prison costs. Make their governments pay every penny. Use our military to enforce this. Tell the governments they can come to America, round up and repatriate their citizens and save that amount of money. The foreign governments will close down their boarders pronto.

The real answer is for the states to build it. Screw the Feds, they will not enforce the law. We will have to to survive. If the Feds get in the way we will have to throw them out.
