in Mississippi it’s a violation to vote in a primary when you have no intention of voting for the party nominee in the general election

Laws that are obviously impossible to enforce (what, do they have Professor X on retainer to read the voters' minds?) are silly.

See, having run on a platform of EBT, SNAP, Section 8 and other handouts, it’s going to be difficult to attract voters that think $17T in debt is unsustainable.

Having run all the way left in the primary, to win, don’t expect the votes of the right in the general.

Beginning with the June 3, 2014, Primary Election, all Mississippians voting at the polls will be required to show a photo ID card. Also, individuals voting in person by absentee ballot in person in the Circuit Clerk’s office prior to the June 3, 2014 Primary Election Day will be required to show a photo ID.

Eligible voters casting an absentee ballot by mail for the Primary Election on June 3, 2014, do NOT have to show a photo ID. Also, overseas and uniformed military voting by absentee ballot by email or fax do not have to show a photo ID.

They are useless if depended on to stop those without scruples, apparently someone didn’t think them useless but thought of them as rules for honest and honorable people. I don’t know why or how just that it’s ANOTHER OF THE LAWS of Mississippi that cochran, the cochran campaign, the barbours, the RNSC, the GOP, the Mississippi GOP, senato roger wicker and joe nosef, the chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party chose and chooses to ignore.

True, but not the point. Elected Representatives are supposed to OBEY the laws, not decide if they're worthy of following.

So why did a Republican candidate court Democratic voters when he knew in doing so they would violate the law?

What about the double voters? Will he be paying their fines? Sure they didn't have to vote for him, but the tactics he used? Accusing the opposition of being racist and cutting off the government goody train is pure political terrorism.

Does the fact he USED these people not bother you at all?

Three problems here. First, you are correct to point out the idiocy of trying to police 'intent'. But that is not the issue here. The issue is trying to police those who actually voted in the Dem Primary. And in that event, it is 100% possible to enforce. Unfortunately, we have corrupt election officials working on behalf of the Cochran campaign who were specifically ordered NOT to verify that status.

The second problem here is that the Cochran campaign sent out flyers that reinforced the patently false narrative of Republicans regarding race. The Republican Party has never been the party of racists, segregationists, etc., yet now we have a Republican reinforcing the worst race-baiting possible with Democrat voters.

Lastly, we have misappropriation of funds from GOP coffers. The NRSC raised money on the premise of using that money to defeat Democrats in November. Yet instead, that money has been used to defeat Republicans in June. Furthermore, that money was given directly to Democrats to empower them and get out the vote. I don't know about you, but I think donors would be highly upset to find out that the checks they stroked to the GOP were given to Mississippi Democrats instead.

Capisce?
