The sovereignty of American States, won on the battlefield of the Revolution, and recognized in the Constitutional compact, in various ways, is more important than simply "following the money," solicited by political campaigns. A Senator represents a State--under a Republican form of Government, that is the people of that State, acting as a body politic.

But look, I have waded into this, myself, because the writer is an obvious dissembler, as developed in #151 & my #158. Let us agree, at least, that he has been caught with his pants down.

The immediate need, for Americans who are interested in saving the Republican Party for any purpose, is to downgrade the pernicious influence of the party bureaucracy in Washington--which is an imperative, if there is to be anything worth salvaging.

All I’m saying is that if we abandon half the war while national money funds state positions we are going to get mauled. As usual.
