State Sen. Chris McDaniels campaign told Breitbart News that the conservative firebrand is already halfway to finding enough allegedly ineligible votes counted to launch a legitimate challenge to the results of last Tuesdays GOP primary runoff against incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS).
With more than half of the states countiesand many of the states African American-majority counties, where many of the ineligible crossover votes are suspected to have occurredstill uncounted, McDaniels team told Breitbart News he has at least 3,300 ineligible votes counted. That 3,300 is, according to the McDaniel campaign, just from looking at voters who voted in the June 3 Democratic primary, then crossed overallegedly illegallyto vote in the June 24 GOP primary runoff.
Our volunteers on the ground have found over 3,300 irregular votes after examining fewer than half of Mississippi's counties, and that total does not include the Delta counties or even the more than 18,000 absentee ballots, which are sure to include many more irregularities, since that was the prime focus of Cochran's Get Out the Democrat Vote strategy, McDaniel spokesman Noel Fritsch told Breitbart News.
One such major allegation broke Monday evening via freelance journalist Charles Johnson, who found a pastorthe Rev. Stevie Fielderwho says Cochrans campaign paid $15 per vote in the black community to vote for Cochran through people like him. Fielder provided Johnson with text messages after Johnson paid him for the story, which ran on Johnsons new GotNews.com on Monday evening, that allegedly show a Cochran campaign staffer discussing the distribution of cash to Fielder. In the text messages published online, a phone number identified on Fielder's phone as Cochran campaign staffer Saleem Baird appears to discuss putting cash in envelopes for Fielder to pick up.

If so, it’s going to be fun watching the ACLU fight the challenge — on behalf of a Republican!
Time to cook up another batch of popcorn with organic coconut oil and Celtic sea salt!
I think the secretary of state of MS has to certify the election which has not been done AFAIK.
BTTT!
Excellent explanation, thanks for taking the time.
Good summary.
Here’s a blog (not mine) that a friend referred me to:
http://cottonmouthblog.blogspot.com/
Some interesting info in there (the black pastor worked on a previous campaign for a Republican) and a bit of skepticism about that pastor’s story.
I think McDaniel should proceed cautiously with the vote buying allegations. People who will tell stories for cash will tell ANY story.
But the crossover votes are CLEARLY illegal and can be shown easily. There’s enough there already to order a statewide check.
It is the law in Mississippi that if you vote as a Dem in the Primary you cannot vote in a GOP runoff election.
It would be the same rule for a Republican who voted in the GOP primary. If there had been a Dem runoff he would not be able to vote in it.
Thorough explanation of the rules, thanks
I read the blog...sounds more like a pro-Cochran site than anything else
And, I would love the see Cochran sue....though he and his crooks are blowing smoke up their hinds.
They will not sue. A lawsuit opens up everything to discovery...and I doubt they will want this Charles Johnson to get his hands on anything that criminally implicates Cochran
Excellent! Thank you for the explanation. That clarified things perfectly. Looks like we have them by the short and curlies now.
We wouldn’t have had Al Franken and the clinching senate Odumbocare vote had another Rino had the same balz
It's hard to stop when both Democrats AND Republicans are doing it.
To clarify: if Norm Coleman had the same balz that McDaniel does
It is illegal to vote in the Democrat primary and then vote in the Republican one in Mississippi.
We'll see. The GOPe isn't going to let him hang without a big fight.
