Volunteers working for tea party challenger Chris McDaniel in Mississippi say they have already found 20 percent of the invalid double-votes they need to cancel Sen. Thad Cochrans business-funded runoff victory.
Were finished with Hinds County, and were up to 1,500 invalid votes, said Noel Fritsch, Daniels press aide.
Thats critical because McDaniel can force another runoff if he can find more invalid votes than Cochrans roughly 7,000-vote margin-of-victory on June 24. Votes are invalidated if voters cast ballots in both the Democrats June 3 primary and the GOPs run-off on June 24.
However, McDaniel can also force another election even if he cant find 7,000 invalid ballots, said Fritsch.
We dont have to prove that we have 7,000 [invalid] votes . all there needs to be is enough doubt about the election, and were confident about that, he said.
That cancel by doubt strategy gives the McDaniel campaign an incentive to collect evidence about possible vote-buying and other potentially unethical behavior by Cochrans campaign.
So far, there are many reports about shady outreach to Democratic voters supposedly undertaken by Cochran and his allies, particularly done by relatives of former Gov. Haley Barbour.
For example, The Daily Caller reported that Henry Barbour, the head of the Mississippi Conservatives PAC and the nephew of Haley Barbour, paid Democratic operative Mitzi Bickers to make paid calls to potential Cochran supporters. Those calls may have spurred many loyal Democrats to cast invalid votes.
In the search for improper votes, GOP officials who are affiliated with Cochrans campaign are trying to block McDaniels search for invalidated votes that are recorded in the poll books, Fritsch said.

However, 19,000 absentee voters cast ballots in the GOP run-off, and many of those votes may be improper, say McDaniels allies.

You are putting blame where blame isn’t due. I blame the blacks for their fraud as much as I do the Cochran campaign. McDaniel knew the blacks vote lockstep for DEMS and didn’t think they would lower themselves to commit fraud. Your type makes me sick - troll!
Not a recount situation. if the number of illegal votes exceeds the difference, the usual remedy is to order a new election.
Ping #4
I don’t think it will be a recount. It will be a new primary election.
But the new election needs to have heavy monitoring for vote fraud and McDaniel needs to run ads to reach out to blacks with a response to Cochran’s misleading remarks about his being a racist or a member of the KKK etc.
Personally I think McDaniel can win as a write-in because the black dems that crossed over for Cochran won’t be there in November.
The RINO’s tried to steal this election.
Chris McDaniel is fighting back.

He needs our financial support now. Are you all talk and no action?
What the gop is not reckoning is the extreme dislike these tactics have generated for their pet candidate. The only way to hold this seat is for McDaniel to be the candidate. Cochran will lose the seat after these shenanigans.
The first poll I saw after the primary had Cochran under 50%. In this state that’s pretty bad.
I was stating what I think they believe, not what I think they should do.
I draw an analogy that this is like a scrimmage between players on the same team and some of the Coach’s pet players are kicking their teammates in the balls and sucker punching them.
Actually, I think they CAN prove who they voted for. If the DEM voted in the primary on 6/3 - its safe to assume he/she voted DEM. However, on 6/24 - if that same person voted - it stands to reason that it was a vote for a REPUBLICAN - because of the runoff - and its also safe to assume if that person is black they sure didn’t vote for McDaniel. Is this a racist comment? No - just factual.
19,000 absentee votes?
Holy Cow...with only 3 weeks between the primary and the runoff, how were 19,000 absentee ballots printed, mailed and returned within 3 weeks?
Were they already standing by?
Nice analogy.
McConnell looks like he will lose also. But I don’t think Bevin could win as a write-in candidate against McConnell whereas I think McDaniel is strong enough to win as a write-in.
Decision time....Tea Party people need to press forward and get McDaniel back in the game and win the Senate seat. And McConnell needs to go bye-bye with the unfortunate loss of a GOP Senate seat.
God knows America needs real conservatives in its Senate. Reelecting corrupt scum will do more harm than good; they have to be taken out.
Who has the math on the GOP taking the Senate if McConnell loses and McDaniel wins in November?
They were sitting in the trunk of Haley Barbour’s limo.
you have now taken the lead in “dumb post of the day” award ...
Good analogy.
I would add breaking bones, assuring that the team will lose.
Meet what appears to be one of the keys to Thad Cochrans black-turnout operation, Mitzi Bickers.
She is, from all appearances, something of a renaissance woman: She is not only the pastor of Atlantas Emmanuel Baptist Church but also a former president of the Atlanta school board, a former construction-company executive, and a Democratic staffer and political strategist with a checkered past. Last year, she left her job as a senior adviser to Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed after news surfaced that she had filed a fraudulent financial-disclosure statement.

Yes - he has my vote
Yeah this was a cheat.
