God created a magnificent angel known as Lucifer, the Light Bearer, but gave Lucifer free will. Lucifer misused that free will to rebel against God together with Lucifer's followers among the angels. Some believe that the issue was that God had created angels to serve members of the human race and that the rebellious angels were too proud to do so. They responded with "Non serviam" or "I shall not serve." They were driven from heaven instantaneously and simultaneously.
No, there is no specific Scriptural account that I know of but the foregoing us a venerable tradition.
IIRC, there are Scriptural accounts of numerous angels and archangels: Gabriel at the Annunciation, Raphael the Healer in the Old Testament, many ranks of angels as a heavenly choir celebrating the birth of Jesus, for three examples.
If YOU choose to prolong this exchange, I will be back after errands.
Again, I have pressing errands but will gladly continue when I get back.
May God bless you and yours!
“but gave Lucifer free will.
That was a BIG mistake!
“To attain full adulthood in the eyes of the Lord”
I am not sure what you mean by this.
The term points to the fact that here is a problem.
The Catholic system (sorry) is sometimes so full of itself that it doesn’t have an effectively clear view of the solution.
That is pretty much a scriptural paraphrase.
“That is pretty much a scriptural paraphrase.”
Which scripture?
social, yep they surely stated the obvious there.
you are joking right?
Eph 4:15 for one
Why cant Christians accept the obvious: homosexuality is part of Gods plan. If it isnt, why does it exist?
***
Why cant liberals accept the obvious: homophobia is part of Gods plan. If it isnt, why does it exist?
“Eph 4:15 for one”
4:15 Into him - Into his image and Spirit, and into a full union with him.
?
Personally I believe the left is largely simply opportunistic with its slogans. The core leadership doesn’t really believe them but they use them because they are effective if not truthful. They never let truth get in the way of a good marketing strategy.
My problem is that I’ve never seen a copy of “God’s Plan,” so it is difficult to know just what it is. Please don’t say it’s The Bible, because it seems to be all over the place. Everybody talks about His plan, but it all seems to be just a matter of opinion.
You’re laughing?
I try not to pick unnecessary fights among Christians.
God bless you and yours!
I also try not to pick unnecessary fights among conservatives on a conservative website which seems quite welcoming to all of us without regard to differences solely of creed.
See #117.
The trouble point is the claim (and evangelical churches sometimes do this as well, with equally self-hobbling results): “God said our institution comes up with all the right answers.” The more a particular Christian has had unmistakably supernatural experience of the actual Lord, a Spirit who lives up to His biblical credentials and who conquers lesser spirits, the less he or she will be to fall into this difficulty. If honest, we find ourselves at times to be uncomfortably God-phobic. We’ve got more sin than we would like to believe we do. And the actual grace of God amazes more and more.
And ultimately “sexual perversions” are seen as wrong not because a church said so, but because the exquisite merit of the plan that the Lord ordained shows those distortions up for the phoniness that they are.
To be blunt, sinful humanity, when dealing with this kind of love, is so often like bulls in a china shop.
