That was a quick investigation. The Army must be more efficient than when I was a soldier.

DURING captivity. What about before?
To: chessplayer
And just how does the Army know this? Were they in captivity with him?...

I'd have a tough time holding anybody responsible for their actions while in captivity of these scum, unless their actions amounted to voluntary treason. I'm sure it's damn tough to prove something like that, when the only person talking is the person being investigated. So let him slide on that stuff...
But the fact that he deserted is another issue. They better pursue that investigation.

no reason to believe that Bergdahl engaged in any misconduct during his five years in captivity. What the heck does that mean? Didn't that AWOL deserting fool think he was running off to join the jihadi circus?
To: chessplayer
I thought he was teaching the Taliban how to make better IED's.

Nevermind his captors bragged about him helping with IEDs. How about his wrongdoing in deserting or will they sweep that under the rug as well? Can’t have anything tarnish The Won’s crown.

Snowden - extremely dangerous traitor.
Bergdahl - innocent rose, totally innocuous.

If they don’t have the evidence, fair enough. But his desertion is an entirely different matter. If they do a cursory inquiry with the same pronouncement, it’ll be obvious that the Commander-in-Chief has been doing some commanding.
