A SWAT team blew a hole in my 2-year-old son

After our house burned down in Wisconsin a few months ago, my husband and I packed our four young kids and all our belongings into a gold minivan and drove to my sister-in-law’s place, just outside of Atlanta. On the back windshield, we pasted six stick figures: a dad, a mom, three young girls, and one baby boy.

That minivan was sitting in the front driveway of my sister-in-law’s place the night a SWAT team broke in, looking for a small amount of drugs they thought my husband’s nephew had. Some of my kids’ toys were in the front yard, but the officers claimed they had no way of knowing children might be present. Our whole family was sleeping in the same room, one bed for us, one for the girls, and a crib.

After the SWAT team broke down the door, they threw a flashbang grenade inside. It landed in my son’s crib.

Flashbang grenades were created for soldiers to use during battle. When they explode, the noise is so loud and the flash is so bright that anyone close by is temporarily blinded and deafened. It’s been three weeks since the flashbang exploded next to my sleeping baby, and he’s still covered in burns.

There’s still a hole in his chest that exposes his ribs.

You’ll be able to tell, I’m sure.

Hopefully you won’t be one of the ones cursing God, thinking they’ve been “left behind” from the imaginary pre-trib rapture.

Interesting comments on *semi-free* will. Your understanding of God's power and knowledge, is that he stops some evil things, and allows others. Abraham killing his son would have been pretty evil. God supposedly knew that Abraham would willingly sacrifice his son, yet asks him to do it anyway as a test, and then stops him at the last moment. That's psychotic behavior.

In the book of Job, God allowed His faithful servant Job's wife and children to be slaughtered by evil agents (government goons? ) after having a conversation with the devil about his faithfulness - completely illogical and nonsensical.
Those are two really nice contradictory bedtime stories for the little ones about God's love. That will strike irrational fears into their inquisitive little minds.
Remind me not to ever let you babysit my kids, by the way! :-)

Do you agree with this?

There is nothing in God’s word that properly understood demands blind alliance to unjust tyrannical authority.

Those “authorities” are exactly what Yeshua will soon come to destroy. The theme of the Revelation is Yeshua overcoming the kingdoms of men.

Anyone that thinks we are to submit to unjust authority just does not understand the word of God.

>> “The God of Isaac?
-The same God who according to Hebrew legends, told Abraham to sacrifice his only child, and then an angel magicly appeared and grabbed Abraham’s hands at the last moment?” <<

.
That nonsense is nowhere to be found in the word of God.

Abraham was never told to sacrifice Isaac; he was told to take Isaac and go up the mountain to sacrifice. It was Abraham that was willing to do so in his belief that it was what God had demanded. His mistake proved his faith in God, and a sacrifice was provided by God.

Making up stories is the amusement of a fool.

Not exactly.

God declared the end from the beginning.

Hilarious response. If the article had been about leash laws and libertarians posted their opposition, you and geron would inevitably bring up your obsession with drugs and then say the thread was libertarians rushing to a thread about drugs.

You need to go back to school and learn the difference between “proof”, “evidence” and “premise.”

I may have,in your twisted mind, provided evidence supporting a premise, but that’s a far cry from proof of anything.

Let’s call it what it really is:

The War on the Constitution.

It was never about dropping drugs.

If it was, they wouldn’t attempt to justify their tactics.

They wouldn’t need to break and enter into homes to nail a “dangerous drug dealer” who has so little product that he needs a toilet, not a forklift, to hide the evidence.

But, as we know, often the victims were guilty of nothing but Sleeping at 3 AM.

Heinous, I tell you, absolutely heinous.

Disgraceful that some here justify using the strong arm of the State to combat an addiction problem.

Yea, something only Christ can do.

Sad that some Freepers insist that the government is needed to do His job.

Because such raids have been justified and downplayed for decades.

And now we are seeing what happens when you downplay or justify tyranny.

Well, with the free will ... everyone knows there is no such thing as unlimited free will. There’s a lot of talk about free will and in a political framework, “freedom” - and in both cases (they’re both related) - there’s no such thing as it being unlimited.

I simply stated what goes unstated most of the time, even though everyone knows it inherently.

In terms of Job and Abraham, people seem to think that God is an ordinary person and should think the same way an average human being does. The Bible makes it very clear that God’s capabilities and wisdom are so far beyond mortals, that mortals don’t even rate on the chart.

Just look at what God said to Job in chapters 38 through 41 ... :-) ...

With Abraham, God knows what Abraham thinks and what he will do - but we don’t. What Abraham is and who he believes is not clear to “us” (and others in the world) - until his actions show what his thoughts are. What was done was “for us” and not for God.

And then what God is “showing” here is a “type” that is to come, which is the Messiah of Israel, the Son of God, who is the sacrifice for sin for the entire world, for any who choose to avail themselves if that salvation.

If all anything depended on was simply what God already knew - he wouldn’t have to have it “play out in real-time” ... He would simply say this is what will happen from the beginning of history to end of history - and now, since I told y’all everything that will happen — we all can go into eternity.

No ... the “playing it out” is for a witness and is for our benefit, and will enable “us” to understand more fully what God already knows (and knows in less than one second). It’s also a witness to the angels, good and bad, as they are like us in the sense that they are created beings and don’t “know it all” — although they do know quite a bit more than us and they have more capabilities.

All this is to “play it out” in “real-time” so that there is no question as to “what might have happened” (if God simply told you from his knowledge of the future) — it will be “WHAT DID HAPPEN” and there’s no question to it.

I can just see some people saying .... “Yeah, sure you ‘say’ Abraham will sacrifice his son, but I really don’t think so!” ... LOL ...

There will be none of that, because this HAS PLAYED OUT with everyone making their choices, and now the whole world knows, not just God.

Another TYPICAL THING ... I can see some people saying if God simply gave you a “summary judgment” and sent you to the lake of fire, based on ONLY his foreknowledge of what your choice would be — it would be, “But, but ... you’re just ‘saying so’ and I know I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN YOU!”

Oh really?!

Okay then, we’ll just “play it out” and it won’t be God “just saying so” and sending you to the lake of fire, but it will be YOU CHOOSING IT and sending yourself to the lake of fire!

Another aspect to this is about death. That’s not really the big deal as Jesus told us in the Gospels. He said it was the “second death” that is the big deal and that’s what Satan is trying to take away from you - your salvation in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, and eternal life with him — instead of eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.

Lastly ... don’t worry about babysitting ... I’ve got my hands full.

That other link ... I’ll have to look at it first.

He has declared it in terms of what his active will is, while at the same time God has allowed a limited amount of free will with people, and in that he “knows” it and hasn’t violated the elements of free will He has given to you.

Thus no one thwarts God’s plans for the future, but you personally have a part in acting too - from your own free will - and God “knows” that even before you do.

We should also note that God has declared SOME of it, not all of it, as we are given a very limited revelation of it.

You can say that God has declared some of it, and we know it from his revealed will, he may have declared other parts of it where we don’t know (like in the counsels of heaven) and then there will be other parts that he has not declared but that he knows. And along with all that, he also knows the beginning from the end in all other situations, as in our free will choice that he has given us.

Ok then, enjoy the day, I’m sure another incident will surface to rile you up.

I imagine in your mind ISIS is really just not our problem, right? Nevermind, you can answer but I doubt I will take the time to engage with you. Others here have the desire to do that, I am not one of them.

Btw, my original post was simply to cite the poster who so vehemently engages with this tripe, and makes no headway. I was tipping my hat to him. But hey, if trying to get me to see the world through your eyes makes your day, I can’t help ya.

I’m in the military,so,yeah, international affairs affect me and my family. You want to fight Isis? Go vote for it then raise your right hand and leave your family. This thread wasn’t about the international political positions of libertarian leaning conservatives. It was about police brutality, so I’m not sure why you brought it up.

Btw, if you intended a private response to geron, might I suggest you click the link right next to ‘post reply’ that says ‘private reply’

If you don’t wish to be engaged in discussion might I also suggest you not read and post on public discussion boards.

This attack was a direct result of the war on some drugs which YOU SUPPORT. There is no way out of it. These alleged human beings were doing YOUR WILL! You own it. Now deal with it. Either acknowledge your guilt or acknowledge the fact that FREE ADULTS are going to do some things you may not approve of and move along. Their lives are NOT YOURS TO CONTROL! Get over it. Knock off the nannyism and grow up yourself.

God never said we should use government to prevent sin, else why would He give us Free Will? There are laws to deal with actual HARM caused by drug users, just as with the MAIN drug, ALCOHOL users. Let it go at that and stop funding drug cartels, the nanny state and evil cops. Otherwise it all comes back on YOU and your desire to meddle in others’ lives.

I don’t support what they are doing at all.

The legalize drug crowd, which apparently includes you, cannot rationally discuss the topic. I’m not a masochist, so I’m not going to bother wasting my time with you.

This one sentence “God never said we should use government to prevent sin” is so insanely laughable I cannot even begin to imagine which brain crevice you managed to find that in. It certainly isn’t historic or true in any way. “Prevent” sin? Hunh??? So there were never laws, say in Jesus’ time, against adultery, sodomy, bestiality, theft, murder, slander, etc etc?

You pro drug people are ridiculous and your debate “tactics” reek like full diapers.

Have fun fighting with the mirror.
