There were 24,889 votes cast in Hinds County in the runoff17,927 were for Cochran and 6,962 were for McDanielbut only 20,567 Republican voters are listed in Hinds County, according to the well-known Labels and Lists Voter Data Base. The extraordinarily high turnout in Hinds County is much more than what happened in Hinds County in the primary just a few weeks ago, when 16,640 total votes were cast10,928 for Cochran and 5,621 for McDaniel.
When asked if that seems a bit off, Cole responded: Right.
I noticed in his speech, McDaniel said dozens of irregularities, Cole said. So I suspect hell look into some of the bigger counties like Hinds, Madison, maybe Bolivar up in the north deltathey had a big turnout. Forrest is always a placethats where the contested mayors race was last year. They went to court and it had to be done over because of irregularities. So, Forrest could be a place to lookbut I dont know where all these irregularities could be.

This deserves NATIONAL exposure...people need to see exactly what was done here.
It’s an even sicker tyrant that would exploit this bad law by calling upon the ‘other side’ to vote for him in order to trump the will of the people.
A write in campaign CAN win.
Look at the June 3 results here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-tran/elections/2014-primaries-june3
(Mississippi results are down the page)
Notice the top vote getter that night was McDaniel. The ENTIRE Democrat slate didnt get HALF the votes of EITHER Republican.
I dont think Cochran will get DEMOCRAT votes in the general election, do you?
McDaniel could repeat what he did on June 3 and be the next Senator from Mississippi.
Its a bizarre and foolish law that invites crossovers to disrupt races.
If I understand correctly democrats can vote in the GOP runoff if they didnt vote in the democrat primary.
That is why the republicans keep getting candidates like Thad and Lindsey Graham.
Probably they polled Republican voters, Democrats were allowed to vote in the run off. Cochran stampeded blacks to the polls with robocalls about the “racist Tea Party” candidate.
MS ping
Only registered party members can vote in their party’s primaries here
How hard would it be to make that the law in ALL states.

We are assuming that there is still enough basic comprehension of both the political process and basic math for the bare facts to make an impression on the sheeple.
It takes more that three sentences and a picture to lay out the story, as the length of the article demonstrates.
Perhaps, if the lede refers to Cochran's confessed barnyard bestiality, it can get some traction.
You know, I’m not even mad at this result, as it hurts the GOPEs far more to “win”. Either they lose the election fair and square (which is what would have happened), or they destroy themselves in the minds of the still identified GOP base. Like who would actually feel great about knowing that the “leadership” used race-baiting and Democrats to win a run-off to keep some old fart in office?
We should get every elected Republican on record as to what they think of this level of sleaze.
I don’t expect any challenge to be successful, but McDaniel needs to fight like an enraged pit bull.
There are many types of victories.
I think the head of the Democrat Party said that because he would rather face Thad then Mitch in Novemeber. Just sayin’
The GOP has apparently decided to destroy their own senate candidate here in Michigan. Terri Land is an establishment candidate but has a reputation for integrity and has been friendly to the tea party and conservatives. The GOP wanted full on RINO Dave Camp to run but he declined.
Just this morning Frank the Liberal Luntz was calling her ad from a couple months ago the worst of the season. It was an OK ad that was for a very specific situation. Luntz failed to mention her other issue oriented ads that are currently running.
Big oops on my last post: Chris NOT Mitch...
Florida in 2012. Rep Gov and SOS. No one would question the vote fraud that was in the news. Not going to help here. Fix in now and fix in for all future elections EVERYWHERE
The problem here is that people who didn’t vote at all in the general election can vote in the runoff...and crossover.
Cochran relied heavily on boosting voter turnout in the runoff among not only mainstream Republicans but also black Democrats, whom his campaign and its allies aggressively courted in the final days of the campaign."
I kind of agree about the challenge being successful. But I totally agree with the fight.
This has to be apocalipse-type painful for the GOPE.
Also important - any voters found to have voted improperly must be taken to court and made to spend a bunch of money defending themselves. This HAS to be made too costly to do again.
“Its becoming hard to tell a rhino from a demodummie these days. I smell a rat in the Cochran camp.”
The RAT is honest about who and what they are. The same can’t be said for the GOP Establishment RINO.
