I really, really don’t want to seem as if I am bashing America. I am simply standing up for the UK.
I love America, love travelling in it, I love the diverse cultures and people, and above all the complete friendliness of the people all over. I have never had a bad experience in the US. Quite the opposite. Being Scottish and British.
I in fact lived in America from May 2004 to Aug 2005, in Florida, working for a Scottish/British company, and loved it.

As an exercise, read about the Overmountain men that banded together in 1780 to cross from East Tennessee into North and South Carolina and fight and win the Battle of Kings Mountain. It was this British defeat that turned the tide of the Revolution by seriously eroding General Cornwallis’ force.
The Americans were pretty much all Scotch Presbyterians fed up with the British burning of churches and killing people. To this day, the population in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia have Scotch roots.
