Rep. Darrell Issa forced a White House attorney to testify Tuesday as he and other GOP lawmakers seek answers on why years' worth of emails from ex-IRS official Lois Lerner have disappeared.
Tensions flared almost from the beginning. The chairman of the House oversight committee, shortly after White House attorney Jennifer O'Connor began to testify, accused her of being a "hostile witness" when she did not immediately answer one of his questions.
"I'm not a hostile witness," she retorted.
"Yes, you are," Issa, R-Calif., said. He later clarified to say she is "non-cooperative."
O'Connor was brought before the committee because of her work with the IRS in the latter half of 2013, when she was brought on to help the agency respond to congressional requests for documents pertaining to the IRS targeting scandal.
Her appearance itself was controversial. The White House initially blocked her from appearing. Issa then issued a subpoena late Monday, and the White House reversed course, making her available to testify.

And none of us around here give 2 sh!ts when a poster like you makes statements like that, and regularly adds nothing of substance to any of the threads to which they post.
Get lost, loser.
Depression is the enemy. We have power, we can use it. :)
Don’t forget those who were cc’d, blind copied and forwarded.
No effin way they formatted the drives of everyone involved.
Issa is still an empty threat.
Because we are a dying nation run the machine. A very sad situation.
All of these things seem to happen when I’m at work and can’t keep up or watch.
I hope there’ll be YouTube highlights available.
The whole idea of them being ‘lost’ is beyond laughable. It’s stupidity on parade......................
Wouldn’t it be sweet if the group Anonymous had all of the emails and released them ALL to the public?
Not really the Media bought it. They are keeping it covered up.
It doesn’t really matter what the mediots do any more. They cannot conceal this corruption forever...............
And only one of them is in the grass.
OK...three. My bad.
And why did they make him get a sex change?
This reeks, we know she was brought in by WERFEL at the IRS, but what was tough about asking who hired her at the WH? So they bring in a fixer, who oversees what needs to be “fixed”. Six months after leaving the IRS, she is employed with the WH legal staff, where she can not only provide inside info from the IRS, but can cover and be protected by the WH.
Don't be silly!
In order to insure his safety, entering the august gates of the Capitol, they had to dress him as an ugly woman...
You noticed that too?
very careless.
Soooooo, this is mostly pointless. Do you know how the Congress hands out committee memberships and chairs? It's pay to play. The party national committee controls it. It's at the other end of the insatiable maw of campaign spending picking out nuggets. If a Representative or Senator wants the job, they must contribute more. So the issues really are more along the lines of:
You should contribute to the person if there is an intersection to the above. As far as kicking people out - the only way is to make sure they are not re-elected. So in essence you are suggesting Issa should not be re-elected. Who does that benefit? Do you have a replacement in mind? How will it affect the majority and the investigation - positively or negatively? Will it be as impactful as primary-ing Cantor was? If I were in Issa's district I would oppose this out of necessity because the replacement is a Dem.
Keep in mind that the majority can always create another Select Committee with special powers (oh wait! they did!) far exceeding what Issa can wield. Which is also a nifty way to suck in more money for the national committees, both of them.
Thanks for letting us peek at the Rotten RINO Rules.
Our best chance of beating them is to ignore their rules.
Where are the House Republicans with backbones?
