If the recent firestorm over Hillary Clinton's claims of poverty upon leaving the White House with huge debt was meant to send the former First lady a message, clearly she didn't get it.
Seemingly unwilling to let go of the 'I'm one of the little people' meme for what would be a populist positioning as a White House candidate in 2016, today in The Guardian, she's all but crying poor, again.

The Clintons are overflowing with greed. 100 million isn’t enough for them.
How many millions will it take Hill, until you think you are well off, and what makes you think you deserve to be “well off” and BFD you have enough for yourselves and you are just jealous that your daughter is richer than you
TRANSLATION: “We’re only 0.1%-ers.”
I sure as heck wish I was as dead broke as her.
This shows truly out of touch she is. With their millions they are not well off? Tell that to folks who are having trouble finding jobs. Tell that to people who are facing soaring food costs. Tell that to people who....
Ethically speaking, no.
“The Clintons are overflowing with greed. 100 million isnt enough for them.”
Well to be fair, 100 million doesn’t go as far as it used to!
She certainly has the Democrat party meme down pat.
Lie, lie some more, make up the biggest whopper possible, then lie some more and if that doesn’t work make up more lies.
At this point what difference does it make.
She is a shameless, Godless person which makes her a perfect Democrat.
Well off the rails, well off the wagon, what difference does it make.
I agree. One fill up at the pumps and a trip to McDonalds and you’re broke again.
Hey, I agree. since people with $111 million aren’t well off we should stop taxing anybody who makes that or below. Since nearly 100% of the people who have more than $111 million are Democrats, let them pay for everything.
That’s because the Clinton’s don’t think of themselves as
‘regular’ American’s. They compare themselves against the ‘Old Money’ American’s of the Robber Baron Class and their descendents.
Shouldn't that be "another burst of cackling laughter"?
Does she really think people believe that junk? I have come to the conclusion that all dems lie even if the truth is staring them in the face. Are they that stuck on stupid? People are having to decide which bills to pay and if they have money to buy food or medicine each month and she comes out with this nonsense. People vote for these characters and I will never understand that mentality.
I guess we need to elect her President then so that her and Bill can pay the rent and put food on the table. They are paupers dressed in rags, you know.
I think this is being misinterpreted by the author.
She is not saying she isn't truly well off, she is saying, accurately or not, that unlike other people in the "truly well-off" category, they pay ordinary income tax. Which I guess means they haven't made most of their money off capital gains.
