A year after the Supreme Court struck down a law barring federal recognition of gay marriages, the Obama administration granted an array of new benefits Friday to same-sex couples, including those who live in states where gay marriage is against the law.
The new measures range from Social Security and veterans benefits to work leave for caring for sick spouses. They are part of President Barack Obama's efforts to expand whatever protections he can offer to gays and lesbians even though more than half of the states don't recognize gay marriage. That effort has been confounded by laws that say some benefits should be conferred only to couples whose marriages are recognized by the states where they live, rather than the states where they were married.
Aiming to circumvent that issue, the Veterans Affairs Department will start letting gay people who tell the government they are married to a veteran to be buried alongside them in a national cemetery, drawing on the VA's authority to waive the usual marriage requirement.

Why is Obama pushing so hard for the gayification of America? My guess:
1) he’s pushing hard for his own kind
2) indoctrination of youth in schools to provide for more prey
3) the gays can push the limits of society’s moral fratricidal to bring on faster disentigration of the infrastructure
4) to be seen as a hero by his peers and increase his celebrity status
5) to increase his voter base as all freaks tend to run together, and last but not least
6) more booty calls

Anything done by a president can be undone by another president. This is not a law. It’s just the actions of a dictator.

Excellent point. For some reason, this is beginning to remind me of a power struggle with a toddler (Obama). Let’s hope the adults win this one. Why does Obama have to cheapen everything, including, apparently, Arlington National Cemetery?
My post is serious, but I have to say, I felt compelled to answer you because I grew up in Des Plaines! :) My parents met Harry Caray in Sarasota during a visit to Florida.
That's cool. I'm not far from there. Oak Park, about 30 minutes away. I wish I had met harry, what a weird, funny great guy.
