The Texas Republican Party this month adopted a platform supporting access to “reparative therapy” for gays and lesbians, a widely discredited process intended to change sexual orientation. In response to an audience question about it Wednesday night, Perry said he did not know whether the therapy worked.
Commonwealth Club interviewer Greg Dalton then asked him whether he believes homosexuality is a disorder.
“Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that,” Perry said. “I may have the genetic coding that I’m inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way.”
The large crowd gathered at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins hotel on Nob Hill included many Perry supporters. But the comment still drew a murmur of disbelief.

Texan Conservatives battled Rick for years over liberal social engineering, and crony handouts to his relatives and foreign companies. Note I said CONSERVATIVES. GOP RINO types are big Perry boosters.
Whey they tell you Rick wants to make it a law to vaccinate your 12 year old daughter for Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or that he wants to give Texas land to a Spanish company to build a statewide tollway and then charge Texans to drive on it, or when he fills posts with his relatives, or has his relatives a companies that benefit from his policies, you wake up and smell the bullcrap.

Allahpundit is a squish. He and his “moderate” companions are why I stopped reading Hot Air (which used to be pretty good when Michelle Malkin had the reins) and Ace of Spades HQ (which was good until they started filling up with “fiscal conservatives”, aka Log Cabin Repub milquetoasts).
