Why did Rick Perry wait so long to call the Texas Militia?
This should have been done weeks ago.

Do we know if Rick Perry even supports this? Will we hear him demand the militia to stand down? Unless I missed it, I’d say better late than never although he still didn’t step up when needed 2 weeks ago... 2 months ago...
What makes you think he has? So far, I've only seen this Ginger Russell calling the Militia. I'll believe it only when Perry himself makes the call.
He was probably looking for ‘heartless’ people and thought he sufficiently shamed them all off last time, thus allowing him to claim lack of resources. He’s not very bright..
