Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis is a national household name for one reason: abortion. She became the face of the pro-abortion movement when she stood up against a pro-life bill in the Texas legislature to stop late-term abortions.
Preferring to keep abortions legal in the Lone Star State up to the day of birth, Davis infamously filibustered the bill and was eventually defeated and the bill became law. Since then, dozens of abortion clinics have either closed down or stopped doing abortions.
After the filibuster, conservative activist Erick Erickson of Red State called David Abortion Barbie on Twitter and the parody moniker stuck. It became such a sensation in referring to Davis that posters sprung up in Los Angeles describing her as such when she want to California to raise money for her campaign.
Davis was incensed by the posters. However, its hard to image why shed be so upset when she now is hosting a fundraiser to celebrate her abortion infamy. Today, she tweeted:
Join me next week in Austin for an anniversary event marking one year since the filibuster last June: http://t.co/CugPqsc5r3
Wendy Davis (@WendyDavisTexas) June 16, 2014
The filibuster anniversary fundraising page says: Please Join Senator Wendy R. Davis, Senator Leticia Van de Putte, and Other Special Guests To Celebrate the One Year Anniversary of the Filibuster.
Sorry Wendy, you can deny it all you want but you are the face of abortion and Texas voters wont forget come November, which is why they will vote for pro-life gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott.
Can I call her “filthy leftist sow” then, instead?
> Can I call her filthy leftist sow then, instead?
No, you can call her that also, not instead of.
:)
C'mon Wendy ... embrace the suck ... after all, like Smith Barney ... you've EARNED it!
Maybe she likes Murder Inc. capo better?.
Though she portrayed herself as a struggling single mother, the Dallas Morning News pointed out that her ex-husband had in fact helped put her through school, cashed in his 401(k) for her, took care of the kids while she was away, and opened doors for her politically. Once she finished school and had those connections, she divorced him. When she was called on the dishonesty, she responded exactly as would be expected: she and her supporters made false accusations of her opponent, including of sexism.
But it was only going to get worse for her ex-husband, and now it has. Politico is running with a magazine piece by Liza Mundy defending Davis. Most of the article is mendaciousit consists of setting ablaze a field of straw men. But then she aims at Jeff Davis..
I thought you had to be a CHRISTIAN, or at the very least SHOULD be a CHRISTIAN to go to a school like TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY.
/caps for em-FA-sis.
Only thing that matters is that the darling of democrat hopes of gaining ground in Texas has imploded and become the laughingstock of Texas politics along with her supporters who bet it all on her campaign. Her so called campaign lasted less than a month before her mouth proved too ridiculous to overcome!!
Most of the bible based schools ceased to adhere to their principles long ago!! They like most other universities are no more than liberal mouthpieces.
The only problem is that she was so lame, she failed far too early.
I had hoped the with her “celebrity”, she would be a sinkhole for national progressive cash donations, pulling them away from other contested races.
By March it was pretty much over.....
I was behind a vehicle yesterday with a “Wendy Davis for Governor” bumper sticker. It made an illegal left turn on a red light.
It probably had something to do with “funding”. Everything is about funding.
Why do you think Abortion Barbie will lose? She is only 12 points behind Abbott, who is not running much of a race thus far. So many in TX support abortin, especially in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and El Paso. Abbott to many is in the tank of the standardized testing companies. I will vote for Abbott, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he loses or just barely wins.
