Democrats wanted to increase the amount of money “loaned” to students.

Republicans wanted to keep the interest charged to students the same.

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans wanted to privatize the Student Loan Program.

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans wanted to oppose Obama’s 2009 +/- action of Nationalizing the Student Loan Program.

Thus, there is no effective difference between the Democrats and the Republicans on the topic of keeping the US taxpayer on the hook for the Federal Student Loan Program.

IOW, after all the speeches and voting, nothing will have effectively changed.

Only cosmetic change is possible with a rubber stamp GOP-E running Congress.

So there is a difference. The GOP blocked the democratic move to give hundreds of thousands of students a ridiculous break which would have cost taxpayers more. Wouldn't have happened with Pelosi in charge.
