Did you not read that the dem opposing Mitch is not only pro abortion but pro late term abortion? Yeah let’s truly cut off our nose to spite our face!

Maybe you missed the part where McConnell DECLARED WAR on Conservatives, and vowed to "CRUSH THEM WHEREVER WE FIND THEM", or his multiple acts of subterfuge to assist furthering the Obama agenda.

The word 'traitor' apparently means nothing to you people except as you apply it to those who will not compromise their principles and vote for the Ruling Class GOP stooge.

So I'll make this plain: I would rather see Grimes get the Senate seat than McConnell retain it. We're writing in a Conservative in November. Screw the GOP. They can go to hell.

Matt Bevin was his main threat who got 35% of the vote.
Three other got 5% between them and McConnell got 60%.
Incumbents generally have the inside track.

Mitch will likely squeak it out. Incumbents are harder to get rid of than gum off the bottom of your shoe.

He squeaked by last general election by 6%. Against a weaker dem candidate, and before he burned his bridges with conservative voters. He doesn't have a lock in November.

So a small Senate minority of hypothetical pure conservatives who manage to get elected despite not being able to win their primaries would do a better job of stopping Democrat judicial appointments?

I’m trying to think of the right word for you... I’m going to watch a documentary on Fascism and get back to you.

So committee asignments will be the same if it’s 51 Republicans vs. a 50-50 tie?

In one scenario, the Senate can launch all sorts of investigations into Obama. The other, they will be hamstrung by the Democrats.

Id much rather have Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer relegated to the back bench where they belong.

McConnell > Reid any day of the week.

The republican minority can stop Democratic judicial appointments now if they want to. They don't.

This isn't about purity. Your liberal republican leadership regularly votes for cloture on the liberal agenda.

They know that the rating organizations never report cloture votes.

I'm saying that getting rid of liberal republicans is a beginning to rolling back the liberal tide. It's a long term project, and there will be pain and setbacks along the way, but pragmatically, it's the only way to stop pro-abortion judges.

Reps. David Schweikert and Walter Jones were both removed from the House Financial Services Committee; and Reps. Justin Amash and Tim Huelskamp were cut from the Budget Committee.

They are conservative. The liberal republican leadership in the House removed them because they are conservative.

Leadership matters. Liberal leadership stops conservatives.

This thread is an interesting read. Two sides. One backing McConnell, one against him even to the point of electing a Democrat.

It’s interesting to watch who does the name calling rather than discussing/arguing the merits of voting or not for someone whom it appears is universally despised.

Obviously replacing existing leadership with more conservative leadership is the way to go. I think the way you do that is by replacing them with a conservative in the primary, not by replacing them with a liberal Democrat in the general.

We disagree. I will continue to work to politically destroy liberal republicans in either the primary or the general election. You do what your conscience compels you to, same as I do.

The problem that some of us have with your approach is that when you “politically destroy liberal republicans” in the general election, you elevate and empower liberal Democrats in their stead.

That may make you feel good, but it’s not doing much for the country.

In the long term, it stops the liberalism.

It's not going to be quick or painless.

But it doesn't matter whether you have a problem with it or not. Many of us are working toward that same goal.

No, actually it is a legitimate option of conscience as well as process.
