That ol guy is a hoot!
I think just accidentally stumbled on the inspiration for that song.
It is from a poem by Shelly.
Loves Philosophy
By Percy Bysshe Shelley
The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix for ever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?

Silly man! Salsa is not music! It’s a tasty tasty condiment! LOL
Viva Salsa Verde!
“Silly man! Salsa is not music! Its a tasty tasty condiment!”
It is ironic that you should say that. A man by the name of Johnny Pacheco is credited with the ‘invention’ of the Salsa. He put elements of Latin rhythms, American Progressive Jazz and good ol’ Rock And Roll into the Salsa. When they first started playing it in clubs in New York City the people in the dance club would ask what it was that the band was playing. Pacheco had not even thought of a name so that the name that popped into his mind, and what he said to those who asked was, “Salsa, because it has a little bit of everything in it!” ;-)
What ever happened to grandsalsaron?.
Jeez I think I pissed him off and he skittered off.
He had a great and extensive salsa collection.
LOL
That is the way my sister inlaw cooks
A bit of everything in there LOL
Whats in here?
Everything. LOL
Another guy named Rubén Blades experimented with Salsa about 15 years ago and had electric bagpipes in his orchestra. Somehow, accordion and bagpipes just do not fit into the Salsa genre but to each his own. ;-)
It is my understanding that he was bounced for a ‘controversial’ post when in actuality he was trying to play the Devil’s Advocate.
I cannot listen to the third verse and not get choked up.
Yeah I remember that guy but do not recall bagpipes.
Anywho That might be an odd mix, and sister inlaw often mixes stuff that should not combine LOL
That said, often odd combos really sing.
Lifes a big ol experiment.
Get yer hands messy, make mistakes and have fun is what I say.
Same in music.
Well he was a decent fellow and I have met him in real life.
Nice guy, submarine brother of the dolphin, and I hate that he has dissapeared.
