On Wednesday, Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) spoke to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, pushing for jobs to move to Texas. In the process, he praised former First Lady and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. "Very, very capable public servant," Perry stated. "Great Secretary of State, first lady. Very capable."

Being that these remarks are out of character with Gov. Perrys stance and considering how he was just speaking as politicians do, it is a shame to see how many FReepers are knee-jerking here.
Just speaking as politicians do, eh? That's the entire problem. We need less poli-speak and more adherence to conservative values.
Speaking of the Kool-Aid club, notice how the most vocal among them have remained completely silent on this? Kinda like when Perry endorsed McConnell. Some things he does are so blatantly leftist that even the most ardent of the Kool-Aid drinkers cannot defend it. Paging tx (makes me) hurl. lol!
No. He's an establishment republican like McCain, Christie & Romney. Stands for nothing. Has no vision for the country except "Democrat lite."
Perry: "Hillary is a Great Secretary of State, first lady. Very capable."
Well it’s a lot like the diehard Romneybots that still haunt the right. Whenever he makes the news with his latest Democrat move, they evaporate. Then when the firestorm subsides, they appear as if by magic to tell the world that he was and ‘conservative enough’ and everyone else was the problem.
Same will happen here.
As long as RINOs have supporters, wither willing or because of fear, they will have power. If people want less RINOs they need to stop giving them power. The math ain’t hard/
It is a perfect sound bite for Hillary to run if he does.
“My opponent endorsed me!”
Texas Gov. Rick Perry arrives in a Tesla Motors Type S electric car for a meeting with state lawmakers in Sacramento.

Boy, he's all dressed up like a California celebrity...
As the audience of fools applaud.
LOL the hipster duds might be forgiven, but for FReepers, the Tesla is a mortal sin.
LOL....He’s counting the three things he can compliment Hill! on....he can only think of one.
Good gawd, Rick...as if hanging out with La Raza wasn’t enough. Now this :(
“...the Texas Miracle is due in no small part to the weakness of the State Government to interfere with the private sector.”
Reagan was right! Those fateful words “I’m from the government and I’m here to help” were prophetic and true. I know that like Texas today, California used to have a “part time” legislature. The idiots here were duped twenty years ago or more to vote in favor of a “full-time” legislature. Now, we have a legislature where they are able to screw with us year round and are paid ridiculous salaries to do so. We even eclipse NY by about 30% on legislative salaries, and all we have is a radical assortment of stupid white liberals, and crooked Blacks, Mexicans, and Asians (can you say Leland Yee?) with a smattering of moron Republicans who are largely “Mini-Cantors.”
OH NO!!!! He’s a “True Conservative (insert trademark here).
You irrational haters just do not understand!
There’s nothing wrong with that car...that a 351 4V Cleveland and a 4 speed wouldn’t fix ;)
Ask and you shall receive Ping to the Uniparty Ping list.
Capable? Really Ricky. Capable of creating disaster? I’ll grant you that.
...been following this thread all morning. Perry’s comments come as no surprise to me. He’s a gifted wet finger waver and corporate welfare enthusiast.
If we are ever to advance conservatism, Perry, those like him, and those that want him/those like him must be purged.
Perry isn’t the worst of the lot, but he is every bit representative of what is wrong with the political right.
Maybe he forgot that he's a Republican now, not the Democrat he used to be.
When it entails voting for the likes of Perry and Romney, what on earth is the point of being Republican?
To pretend that voting for liberals is the same as voting "against" liberals?
Thank you, KC!!!
So he is stupid after all.
