You fail to understand the word in this context.
Doubting someones sincerity simply means you question the motivation behind the words. To condemn someone is to state a declaration.
Now, your comment, on the other hand, is a declaration.
Pot, meet kettle.

I didn’t watch the race, so I am just repeating what I heard. There may have been a non horse strategic error of going to the rail too soon and not being free enough at the correct point in the race to win. But in any case, winning the triple crown is a combination of skill, talent and luck. The right combos of those three will win any race, but Secretariat won by what 23 lengths...
Oh, and it takes money.

Perhaps you can provide us with some anecdotes of other owners showing the same type of behavior? After all, race horses spend most of their careers losing. There must be a plethora of examples.
People who compete at this level have usually paid their dues and know how difficult just having a horse worth running in this races is. I cannot think of another example anything like Coburn's blathering, and I have followed this game for more than 50 years.

Sure, all that. But it’s entirely understandable, and even true, from some point of view. I think the objective take is that the Triple Crown has become impossible because of the mile and a half distance of the Belmont and the specialization that no longer allows a horse to be dominant across the board, as it were. Say no more, say no more.

Frankly, I can’t think of one example either, and I haven’t watched the sport for as long as you’ve enjoyed it, but I’ve seen a few.
I would like to mention that I appreciate your comments. Always informative and edifying. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a lot of valuable insight.

Perhaps, but this doesn’t excuse the fact the owners knew all of this beforehand. It isn’t news to anyone in the horse-racing world.

Personal beliefs on why California Chrome did not win:
The early pace was creepy-crawly slow. Commissioner went to the lead, and he is NOT a speed horse. At that point, CC should have been sent to at least run with that slow pace...if the pace is slow, and you are in front, everyone behind you will have a very hard time catching you. Commissioner missed winning by only a head.
California Chrome has not run a good race tucked in on the rail surrounded by horses. Other than this, he is remarkably free of mental bugaboos.
Early in the race, perhaps at the start, a chunk of the back of one foot was torn away. He probably ran through the pain because of adrenaline, but maybe not.
He was still only 1 3/4 lengths back at the finish. This is a very good horse.

Live by the media ... die by the media.
Great horse. It’s owner didn’t know when to shut up.

“Nobody cares” is a popular American saying. It means “Not many people care”. You from Mexico?

Hindsight is 20/20, which is too often a bitter pill. I know from experience.

Mega-baloney.
The horses are not the problem, which is proven by what the same bloodlines do in other racing jurisdictions without raceday medication and at distances considered "long" in American racing.

I love this game. I do not gamble, but follow the horses and the bloodlines. It is not for the squeamish or faint of heart, but the best stories come out of racing. The most interesting personalities in sports own, train, breed, groom, and admire the Thoroughbred horse.

“You from Mexico?”
No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn.
If you visit this thread for a second or third time after saying, “Nobody cares”, which-in your part of the solar system-means “Not many people care” (excluding Mexico, of course), does this constitute “caring”?
To: ReaganÃœberAlles
I do love the idea of caring enough to type “Nobody cares” in a thread.
There are definitely three kinds of people in this world, those that can count, and those that can’t!

My better halfs family were highly regarded horse breeders and trainers. My grandfather was a rancher. So horses are just a part of our heritage. Personally, I don’t possess a deep knowledge or experience with horses, but it was a part of life growing up.

And that’s a triple in my book, but nobody cares.

I like his wife's reaction.Watched it live. Ha! I'll bet Mr. Coburn received an earful from Mrs. Coburn when the microphones and cameras weren't around.
Whatever happened to California Chrome's other owner, Perry Martin? Seems he watched the Preakness & Belmont Stakes from an undisclosed location, maintaining a safe distance from the vindictive Mr. Coburn.
