There was a recent NY Times article on some hedge fund manager who raises goats in his spare time.

He was sending goats into overgrown detroit neighborhoods and letting them clean up the place.

One bureaucrat’s only concern was that it was illegal to graze animals in Detroit. Such is the mind of a democRat.

Actually that’s another problem. Detroit city government doesn’t want those properties cleaned up. There’s more federal money to be had the worse the decay is. Neighbors would often mow grass but the city comes after them for back taxes if they do.

There are abandoned homes in Jackson Michigan near me but they don’t look as bad because the city boards them up tight and keeps grass mowed. Within a few years they tear them down.

Chittock Ave in Jackson Mi is as bad as the worst neighborhood in Detroit. There are multiple empty lots on this block but the city doesn't leave abandoned homes standing till they fall down. They remove them within a few years and it makes a world of difference in outward appearance and actually does help fight crime.
