I’ll ponder this during my next Lake Superior polar bear hunt.

So the parts of the United States that are close to the oceans - the largest heat sinks on Earth - are warming faster than the areas in the central plains.
This makes total sense, if you’re a jorn0list.

Climate knows no borders. Heat or cold just doesn’t stop at state lines. And I’m no climate scientist.

About the Southwest:
Texas is hot. You know what it’s gonna be 100 years from now? IT’S GONNA BE HOT!! WE LIVE NEAR A F___ DESERT! We have deserts in America, and guess what??? THEY ARE F___G HOT!!!

The Global Warming Hysteria...just so I have this all straight..
It's Too Hot = Global Warming
It's Too Cold = Global Warming
Too Much Snow = Global Warming
Not Enough Snow = Global Warming
Too Many Hurricanes = Global Warming
A Lull in Hurricanes = Global Warming
Too Much Rain = Global Warming
Not Enough Rain = Global Warming
Polar Ice Caps Shrinking = Global Warming
Polar Ice Caps Growing = Global Warming
El Nino = Global Warming
El Nina = Global Warming
I'm suprised we've lasted this long as a species with all of this Global Warming going on...

Today in VA, it was 68 at 7:00am. By 2:00pm, the temp had risen to 91. That’s pretty fast, IMO.

I wonder if, in all this rush to predict doom and disaster from global warming, anyone has considered the observed phenomenon of urban heat sinks or urban heat islands. The Southwest is increasingly urbanized and cities are growing in the Northeast. Just my wild shot.

The average New Mexico summer is 3.4 degrees warmer now than in 1984; in Texas, the dog days are 2.8 degrees hotter.
30 years is nothing in terms of weather cycles. A few thousand years ago the indians were supporting some fairly large populations in the southwest based on the ability to farm there.

The Southwest warming, especially in the summer, seems to be driven by dryness, because when there is little water the air and ground warm up faster, said Katharine Hayhoe, a climate scientist at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Apparently she is not aware that the drier the air, the higher the temperature, given a constant energetic input.
