The White House has apologized to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for failing to alert her in advance of a decision to release Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay.
Feinstein told reporters that she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken on Monday evening apologizing for what the administration is calling an oversight.
I had a call from the White House last night, from Tony Blinken, apologizing for it, she said.
He apologized and said it was an oversight, she added.

Forgetting to notify Congress that we are trading five of the world’s most dangerous terrorists for a deserter, forgetting to keep secret the identity of the CIA Chief of Station in Afghanistan, not realizing that ObamaCare.gov will not function, and similar events seem to be standard operating procedure for the Smartest Man in the History of the World.
He’ll hath no fury...
lol
“Do what officer? 90 mph in a 25 mph zone? I apologize, sir...it was just an oversight.”
Period. Full stop.
"What Difference, At This Point, Does It Make?"

Re: Susan Rice.
She seems very bright. Privileged pedigree. Impressive background. All the best.
All that being said, I just don’t understand why she was out on Sunday talking about the swap. (She appeared on ABC with George S - seems she is married to an ABC news producer - interesting George got her).
She’s the head of the NSA (consolation prize) out talking about a State Dept. / military run swap of prisoners. Not her job any more than her as UN Ambassador talking about Bengazi was.
Heck, the NSA has its own issues. I would think she would have learned her lesson and taken a low profile.
Is she the only one willing to say whatever she is told without any due diligence? Maybe no one else “volunteered”? Maybe running out of sycophants?
Is that a fact or a supposition?
“Its not a matter of manners, dumb@ss...its the law.”
This administration has a long track record of ignoring laws, interpreting laws and selectively enforcing laws. Why should anyone be shocked?
Since Congress and the Courts have decided to ignore the lawlessness, why would anyone in this administration believe they need to comply with any law?
Just another day in Washington.
Fact. They were told several hours before the release. Call their offices and ask.
Um, no, and no. Lies obfuscated with false apologies and hyperbole.
Baghdad Rice said on the Sunday talk show:
“The Department of Defense consulted with the Department of Justice and given the acute urgency of the health condition of Sgt. Bergdahl and given the president’s Constitutional responsibilities, it was determined that it was necessary and appropriate not to adhere to the 30-day notification requirements because it would have potentially meant that the opportunity to get Sgt. Bergdahl would have been lost,” Rice said.
