‘Getting worse by the hour’: FNC reports Bergdahl renounced US citizenship
Twitchy ^ | 12:17 pm on June 3, 2014 | Twitchy Staff

" John Ekdahl @JohnEkdahl Follow If confirmed, this would be a bit of a game-changer. 9:52 AM - 3 Jun 2014"

That’s putting it mildly.

If this report from Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin is true, the Bergdahl affair just got a whole lot stickier:

"Jenna Lee ✔ @Jennafnc Follow Great reporting from @JenGriffinFNC - new report: Berghdal left behind a note renouncing American citizenship...developing... 9:43 AM - 3 Jun 2014"

"David Shor @IshYimini Follow

OMG. https://twitter.com/jennafnc/status/473852493286633472 … he left us behind. This is a game changer. He should be happy we didn't drone him. 9:53 AM - 3 Jun 2014"

Below from FNC’s Justin Fishel: (by the way, why is the prior investigation 15-6 classified? does it really need to be?)

Highlights from gaggle with Pentagon Spokesman Col. Steve Warren:

Bergdahl remains in Germany in stable condition. As of this morning he has not yet spoken with his parents. The Pentagon is offering almost zero new details about his time in Germany, other than to say “debriefings” have begun. They would not characterize the nature of the questions being posed to Bergdahl and they would not say if any of Bergdahl’s statements could be used against him in the event he is eventually prosecuted for desertion or worse.

Warren also acknowledged the existences of a prior 15-6 investigation into Bergdahl’s disappearance. He said that investigation is closed and it will remain classified for the foreseeable future.

Warren said we should expect some sort of paper statement from Army later today.

The paperwork is so irrelevant it is ridiculous to even mention.

Your mention of this is no different than pointing out that a drunk driver who has killed five people should have been wearing his seat belt because it is against the law not to do so.

Who but you cares?

Obama, Holder, W. J. Clinton, H. R. Clinton, and space for one more.

RE: The paperwork is so irrelevant it is ridiculous to even mention.

So, at this point in time, is Bergdahl an American Citizen or not?

Ooo... good point. That’s good research.

But, I’m not a lawyer, wouldn’t a court have to decide he lost his citizenship?
And then, when would that loss be dated?
The day he deserted? Or on the day when the court decided he was no longer a US Citizen?

They could just shoot him, though. That would save a lot of trouble.

Anyway, whatever happens, if it’s bad Obama it’s good for America.

Brit Hume Shuts Down Twitter Troll on Liberal Narrative That Conservatives Would Have Let Bergdahl Die

The troll employed a liberal narrative coalescing to defend Obama in the Bergdahl terrorist swap deal, saying that conservatives advocate for the soldier to have been abandoned and left to die. Here it is being utilized by serial logic abuser Chris Hayes of MSNBC:

Christopher Hayes @chrislhayes

Am I correct that the American right-wing has spent the day arguing we should have left an American soldier behind?

Barack Obama argued today that the US feels confident that these five men are no threat to the US any longer, and that we had a duty to get back a captured soldier regardless of the quality of his service.

Barack Obama argued today that the US feels confident that these five men are no threat to the US any longer, and that we had a duty to get back a captured soldier regardless of the quality of his service.

Obama added, “We don’t condition that.” That’s the argument to which the White House should have stuck all along. It’s true, and it’s compelling — although it doesn’t exactly address the other side of that question, which is why it took all five of the Taliban’s wish-list detainees to make the trade. Nor does it really address how badly this hurts American security, considering that two years ago these same men were considered unreleasable by the Obama administration because of their danger to the US and others.

Obama tried defending his snub of Congress with much less success:

His administration had previously consulted with Congress on the possibility of a prisoner exchange for Bergdahl, Obama said, but had to move quickly because of concerns over Bergdahl’s health and to not miss a window of opportunity.

Really? Obama was in the Rose Garden on Saturday announcing this deal, but Congress didn’t get their official notification until yesterday. As I ask in my column for The Week, if Obama and the White House didn’t have time to inform Congress, how exactly did they find the time to get Bergdahl’s parents to Washington DC from Idaho on Saturday to participate in the Rose Garden speech?

Those 5 terrorists, who we wouldn’t have known about if not for Wikileaks, went free to get this loser back. Good, honorable Americans died to capture them. Good, honorable Americans died searching for this loser. The 5 terrorist will be directly involved with killing more innocent people. This is really, really bad.

How about the moment he threw down his arms and equipment and went out to seek the Taliban. If the Taliban account of his teaching bomb making is true then he took up arms in the service of a Foreign Gov. A competent prosecutor can argue that point as the Taliban were the government from 1996 til 2001 and never officially surrendered.

The desertion charge still hangs over his head
