I’ve yet to meet a 50-50 anybody not side with their “minority” side. I can think of about half a dozen celebrities who were rejected and abandoned by their “parent of color”, and raised by their pale parent—only to say they consider themselves “colored”.
I’m not shocked at all by that. Mixing does create confusion for individuals that eventually will self-identify.
Yes, you’re right. Hallie Berry is 50-50 but thinks of herself as black.
And come to think of it, a person I know rather well is 25% AmerInd and totally identifies with being an Indian, carting around all the resentment and anger towards the White Man that entails. I had to fire him as a friend. Of course, 1/4 Indian blood entitles him to certain benefits just saying.
