The New York Times Bits blog reports:
Google on Wednesday released statistics on the makeup of its work force, providing numbers that offer a stark glance at how Silicon Valley remains a white man’s world.
But wait — just a few paragraphs down, the post notes that non-Hispanic whites are 61 percent of the Google work force, slightly below the national average. (That average, according to 2006-10 numbers, is 67 percent.) Google is thus less white than the typical American company.
The New York Times is joining Apartheid-era South Africa in conferring “honorary white” status on Asians.

But Northeast Asians - especially women - have a cultural preference for appearing as pale-skinned as possible. Darker skin signifies that one is lower class, a farmer who spends too much time in the sun. Taller, paler Northeast Asians regard shorter, browner, Southeast Asians about the way white Boston liberals regard Mississippi rednecks and poor blacks.
Asians will inevitably be classified as "white" in the USA because they aren't big enough moochers to make reliable allies for the Left's other tribes. The spoils will not be shared.
I watch a lot of K-dramas and they definitely think pale-skin is a sign of high status

In my younger days, I read the Kurt Vonnegut book, Hocus Pocus, which is set in a prison. In that time (the future), the prisons were segregated by race, because the Supreme Court had ruled that “general population” prisons constituted “cruel and unusual punishment” for certain races. There were black, white, and hispanic prisons, but there were too few Asian criminals to warrant their own prison, so they made them “honorary whites”.
To be honest the workforce of Silicon Valley is mostly foreign born and the boardroom is American and white, mostly male.
American professionals and the heart of the middle classes are getting squeezed out of a lot of these companies. It’s really not good at all.
There are plenty of very dark Filipinos in the Philippines, the lighter skinned tend to be more middle class and that’s who disproportionately comes here. Very few from ghetto get here because they can’t meet the self-sufficiency requirements and their families aren’t here for similar reasons.
There’s a lot of raw racism in Asia.
That’s after heavy skin lightening pills and cream and photoshopping.
Look at North Korea for the natural color of Koreans.
They were called yellow because of the prevalance of hepatitis in 19th century China.
One of the most detestable designations ever devised by the race hustlers.
