There are currently 61.1 million American men in their prime working years, age 2554. A staggering 1 in 8 such men are not in the labor force at all, meaning they are neither working nor looking for work. This is an all-time high dating back to when records were first kept in 1955.
An additional 2.9 million men are in the labor force but not employed (i.e., they would work if they could find a job). A total of 10.2 million individuals in this cohort, therefore, are not holding jobs in the U.S. economy today. There are also nearly 3 million more men in this age group not working today than there were before the recession began
...
The ratio of those over 55 in the workforce actually ticked up'in other words, older Americans are being forced to return to work in a poor economy to make ends meet while many younger Americans simply arent working at all

Fixed it.
“DISABILITY card...it’s every where you want to be”
Oh, but maybe they ARE!
“Freed from job lock, donchaknow”
Exactly. It doesn’t include contractors and businesses that depend on government. When government controls 40% of a $17 trillion economy, it affects a lot of people beyond those employed by government. Crony capitalism thrives.
took me 4 months from layoff to reemployment, had lots of interviews 8-9 and i am 58-59
Some jobs may have moved to China.
But it’s also true that there ARE jobs American men won’t do.
The fast food place about three minutes from my house is staffed exclusively by women. The few men that work in the kitchen are immigrants.
The same is true at fast-food places and retail all over my neighborhood. Staffed by women and immigrant men.
If American men so want a job so very much, and don’t really prefer EBT or disability payments, why aren’t they working those jobs? “Oh, they don’t pay enough.” So no job is better than a job that doesn’t pay the wage you think you’re entitled to?
Unemployed American men should also be picking crops — it’s summer, and there’s plenty of work in agriculture.
“Oh, I don’t want to do that kind of work.” So I have to subsidize guys sitting around playing Grand Theft Auto all day with MY tax money?
No. Sympathy. for guys who won’t work ANY kind of job rather than take welfare. And for the vast majority of you on disability? That’s welfare. And your’e lying about being disabled. And that makes you crooks.

Lol. Okay.
Anyone here having trouble please contact me. I was a career counselor for veterans and welfare recipients for 15 years.
And I understand married family men work longer hours too. I guess working a 40 week isn’t enough to pay for both one’s family and the entitled.

I agree on principle, but not everyone is capable of bootstrapping unfortunately.
So now they have a disproportionate amount of males to females. Not enough females to go around and they are just a little pissed. Think about it, they also have the largest standing army in the world. Not a very good mix.
