Texas prison system doesnt have to reveal where it gets its execution drugs, the state attorney general said Thursday, marking a reversal by the states top prosecutor on an issue being challenged in several death penalty states.
Attorney General Greg Abbott, the Republican nominee for governor in the nations busiest death penalty state, had rebuffed three similar attempts by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since 2010. His decision can be appealed to the courts. [ ]
The issue has put Abbott in a thorny position during an election year in Texas, where the death penalty is like gun rights: Candidates dont get in the way of either. Holding firm would please death penalty opponents, who prison officials say want to target drug suppliers with protests and threats; reversing course goes against his vows of government transparency.
But his Democratic opponent, Wendy Davis, cant easily exploit the issue. Portraying the law-and-order Abbott, who has been attorney general since 2003, as soft on crime would be implausible. She has said the information should be public.

Just tell them they’re using fermented cabbage from the wilds of Hungary. That should satisfy them.
Ace Hardware?
Nice dig at pro-death penalty folks.
Does AP say what is the "busiest" abortion state? Do they know/care? I thought AP was supposed to be a straight news organization. By law, opinion pieces must be labeled as such.....
“Nice dig at pro-death penalty folks.”

I tell them I am pro-choice and I choose the death penalty and they go apoplectic. If I am really a bit raucous I call them out on why they want to kill babies but free murderers.
Usually that is followed by being called a Rethuglican.
They always include this in any story that mentions Texas and the Death Penalty....
I say HELL YEAH!
Tell them it comes from Planned Parenthood.
It’s sriracha by-products
The question I have for you is: why do you wish to have liberal friends? Very low blood pressure?

Because when we stay away from politics we have a good time. Our wives get along, our kids played hockey together. A couple even had small arsenals that unfortunately were lost in a boating accident.
OK, I suppose it works for you. I could not stand to be around anyone who harbors the views that the leftists do. Just me.
